The movie property (Reacher) as a flawed hero going beyond his limits and past his moral boundaries to satisfy a self-derived sense of righteousness remains an interesting view.

The star's inability to reason, and to consider himself capable of creating change is self-delusional. His interview focusing on the Epstein files and their release belies his meager intellect. Sure, we all want to know the truth. But, to quote Jack Nicholson as the Marine officer in A Few Good Men, we can't handle the truth.

How can one man (Epstein) be under surveillance for so many years that millions of pages of information are stored about him? Who ordered it? Who demanded it? For what purpose? And to what end? Obviously his actions were focused on controlling the powerful (see Prince Andrew), through prurient and perhaps pedastry actions. To achieve great power, he thought, over those in power, Epstein lost his life. Or not.

Mr. Ritchson should behave as a true star. Endear me to his character. Bring me that suspension-of-reality pleasure as the character vanquishes the bad, no matter what it takes. And, that is all.

I think that is why I liked the books so well

As 4MUL8R stated:

I could suspend reality and be challenged.

I think that is why I liked the old Hunter TV show with Fred Dryer.
I could live through his character, but back in the day I was too young to care, and they didn't have social media so every person in the free world could impart their ""great" wisdom on the world.

Yeah, Alan, your ignorant rant is a bit of a put off.

But dang. "listen here cupcake, youre in my house now and you didn't ask permission"

It is fun to watch and I will likely tune in, but as far as Alan goes? what a moron.

I wish I could find that thread about "actors who wont shutup so its hard to watch them anymore."

He hates us, hates guns, hates conservatives, hates MAGA, thinks we're all idiots and nitwits.

Sucks too because I really liked how he played Reacher, but he had to step into politics and declare anyone not like him a problem.

So now I'll watch the Tom Cruise version, at least no matter how he thinks he keeps his mouth shut and does a really good job with movies. Cruise may not be a 6 ft 5 300 pound asshole like him, and I don't really care.

Alan Dicktson can go f-off....

learned long ago, like the artist for what he does to entertain me, and not give a shit about anything else

there are exceptions, DeNiro, to me he is a one character actor, so after the 3rd or 4th movie, I loose interest in what he does,

the Reacher dude, not seen him in anything else, and I have watched less than 2 minutes of anything he says outside that role, maybe less

People such as Richson despise me and my values. Thus I will not buy his product. I cannot watch a show or listen to music when I know that person hates me and uses their fame to destroy my way of life.

Most entertainers vote D, but as long as they aren't using their fame to undermine our way of life then they are just another citizen with an opinion. I don't ask my dentist or car mechanic who they vote for, but if they promoted leftism to their customers I would stop patronizing them, too.

I just watched all the Reachers this year. They're okay. I don't read the books. I only started watching because of Maria Sten's Neagley. She's striking (literally and figuratively)! I understand that she's featured more in the show than she was in the books. It made so much sense that they'd give her her own show. I'm looking forward to more Neagley.

Years ago, I went on a Reacher binge. After reading half a dozen or so, it got so it was "Same story, different day".

The Tom Cruise version was just too much of a stretch for me. The recent ones have been at least somewhat entertaining.

I do get the clash between the roles and the actor but if I quit watching every actor with political opinions I disagree with, I'd be doing a lot of reading.

That said, anything DeNumbskull has done in the last 10 years or so is a hard pass. Same for Whoopi Goldberg.

I've read every novel and I agree with you, they are similar. He is always quickly figuring out the situation, then overcoming every obstacle with ease.

Unfortunately I will be boycotting this show that I really enjoyed in the past.

After Alan Ritchsons crash out, I just can't watch it, same as Liam Neeson and taken. I used to enjoy him, but I can't stand to look at him now. Same with DeNiro, I just turn off or change the channel everytime I see him.

I know, I shouldn't let their politics get in the way of my screentime enjoyment, but the only way I can stop this crap is by not watching these actors. Will it matter, probably not, but it doesn't cost me anything to do what I can.
