Disney is half way down the super giant slalom, going over 100 mph and lost their polls.

I hate to see this once great family entertainment offering go in the dumpster.

Speaking of Disney, how was your trip there during Hurricane Dorian?

I brought up Tim Allen not being the voice back when it was announced.

Apparently Tim Allen is the voice of the Toys. The toys aren’t the Lightyear character.

Still not seeing it now that I have learned of the lesbian kissing scene.

It was awesome.

The hurricane never really affected Orlando at all except for one day the pool was closed due to wind. We basically had the Magic Kingdom to ourselves and Universal was quite sparsely attended too, hardly any lines for anything.

That’s their excuse, I’m not buying it.

Tim Allen IS Buzz Lightyear. Real astronaut or toy. Period.

Well, there was all that testosterone associated with 'Home Improvement' that they probably feel they need to disavow... Roll Eyes

Regardless, Fuck Disney!

From what I saw on IMDB, the “Lightyear” movie is only rated at 4.8 out of 10 (9200+ reviews), but it did just open today. Razz

BTW, Tim, Richard, and April will be in a new History Channel show “More Power” starting in July. Wink

While I understand that this “live action movie” Buzz Lightyear is supposedly the character that the Toy Story toy was made from, in the real world talking toys usually use the actor’s voice, or a close approximation, for the voice box. There is no reason that it wouldn’t have also made sense for Tim Allen to voice the “live” character. I don’t buy Disney’s explanation. Tim Allen got cancelled.

Its too easy to pull out the conspiracy theories on this one. Lots of things that can be surmised

- Tim Allen IS Buzz Lightyear, he's the voice for 4 movies and a handful of other projects.
- I believe Allen initially had a 5-movie contract with Disney that was pretty ironclad and once completed, he was happy to move-on. The success of the Toy Story franchise I understand softened and rounded the edges off any hard feelings.
- Its well known that Allen leans more conservative and there are a number of corners within Disney that loathes and despises anything that points even slightly rightward.
- Explaining that the voice in the movie Lightyear, versus the voice 'toy/action figure' movie, is an easy way to differentiate between the two without acknowledging that there's some internal bias' and executive discrimination.
- Its quite plausible that Allen was fine with having somebody else voice Buzz. There's been other voice actors used for Buzz in other projects, to include video games, cameos, and possibly at the theme parks.

If Allen voices anything but support, it'll be pretty easy for Disney to paper-over his contributions to a beloved and iconic character.

Lightyear sucked. We didn't know anything about it so my wife suggested we take our boys (5 and 7.) The lesbian thing passed me off and I almost walked out and got a refund but figured that would draw more attention to it. I don't think my kids really noticed, though it was extremely noticeable. The fuel (maguffin, really) also turned into a lovely rainbow colored crystal when they figured out the right formula.

Also, the movie just wasn't any good.

The sooner we all cancel them the better. I’m cancelling Wed at 12:45am. Bye bye Marvel, Star Wars, and anything else they own. The only way to teach these greedy fuckers is hit them in the wallet. Maybe then they’ll actually make great content instead of just pumping out trash.

I'm guessing that the only reason it was lesbians and not gay boyz kissing is because the animators were nerd duders that had their wet dream fantasies sculpted by internet porn sites.

BTW, I have not seen this flick so I'm only reacting to the comments here. Have no intention of seeing it either. And yeah, Disney nothing but steamy, stinkfest pile of crap these days.

I wouldn't subscribe to Disney as a stand along streaming channel, but it's part of a package that's subsidized and I don't think there's a way to cancel the revenue going to Disney without dumping the entire package. I just don't watch it, or go to their movies and certainly don't go to their parks.

We recently cancelled Disney+ and the kids were miffed, but all of the good stuff is on my PLEX server anyway.

Hey. Why don’t we have a PLEX sharing thing here?

I will never let my kids see another Disney movie that I haven't thoroughly researched for this kind of BS. Probably never see another one in the theater, period.
