Spoiler:

I'm sad that Enid died. She didn't get to fully develop her character. So many years of being on the sidelines, seems like a shame that she didn't get to be a badass ever. Even Tara got a few episodes where she was the central character.

I'm torn. I liked Enid and Tara, but Henry bought it, so it's all kinda good. Smile

Yep. Agreed on that one.

Ummmmmm...WOW! Eek Eek

Yup...sad to see the Highwaymen get it so soon; I thought they would’ve been around longer than that. I agree with those above in that Negan will be set free to help enact revenge on the Whisperers. Wicked episode...

Right. It was a good episode but a bit of a cop out to not give them a more visible send off.

On Talking Dead, it was mentioned the fight was a lot more detailed than what was shown, but in the end, a lot of it wound up on the editing floor. I think that's what was said...

The heads on pikes show they were all alive until the end, all witnessing the fate of the others. Kinda like Lucille meets Glenn and Abraham or the cannibals slitting throats at the trough.

I'm glad not to have seen so many known characters suffer lurid deaths, I saw enough on the hilltop.

A truly strong episode, good to know the show has some left in it. I actually went back and watched much of it again, foreboding throughout.

So yeah, very much looking forward to payback.

So question...the Whisperers only know about Hilltop and The Kingdom, right? Do they know about Alexandria and Oceanside?? Just wondering, because with the other 2 groups thrown in, of which the Whisperers may not be aware, the Whisperers would be out-numbered by the 4 groups, yes?? And just how would Alpha divert the horde to any of these 4 places if the defecation starts hitting the rotary oscillator for the Whisperers?

Might have to re-watch this last episode, much to my chagrin.

Prediction...Lydia will kill her own mother. You heard it here first! Razz

So they killed the blacksmith's wife. I assume they also took the whisperer baby back?

Well, that's that. See you all in October.

Was that Maggie on the shortwave at the end?

They tend to like penultimate climaxes (second-to-last episode), and quiet final episode set-ups for the next season.

The trouble is, they didn't offer up much that really sets it up for next season.

Somebody out there on a radio? We already know there are others out there so I don't think that is enough of an anticipation builder. Big bad Alpha likes being whipped with a switch to make her strong? Again, not much of a cliffhanger or a surprise there.

I guess it just wasn't enough for me to get excited about anything new coming down the line. Maybe I can finally get off the train.

Why were the Zombie heads still alive? Shouldn't the pikes have killed them?

That's a good point (NPI). I guess it's OK if you're careful not to hit the brain stem.

Something needs to happen with all the lower ratings.
It is to be expected with a long running series as it has just run it's course.
As far a the spinoffs - who knows?
Maggie in her new ABC series Whiskey Caviler is awful but YYMV.
I love TWD but it's time has come.

Was there a thread on the final season of the Walking Dead?

I finally had an opportunity to catch up on the show. The last season was far better than the Whisper's story arc and I'm sad to see the show go now...

Kinda. This appears to be the most recent TWD-related thread, but its last post was in April 2022: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/6500066384

Everyone I know, myself included, bailed on TWD already. I suspect the same is true of the vast majority of the forum members as well, based on the distinct lack of discussion.

I think I bailed around Season 8 or so.
