Unusually for the time (or now, for that matter), this one had an explicitly anti-drug theme.

Before "Electric Avenue," there was this.

A few more from my youthful pre-teen days in the '60s...

Mom got us a box of cereal one shopping trip with a free record on the box by this group, sometime in '66 or so.

September, 1975 and this oldie from Jan and Dean in '64 came to mind thanks to a new girl that I sat behind in two classes..

I don't think this lady gets much airplay now, but she had a great voice and stage presence; from 1960.

Now I remember...the free record on back of the cereal box was this tune:

And one from my favorite Mouseketeer featured in her first beach movie.

ETA; nope the Gary Lewis and The Playboys record wasn't "Green Grass" but some folks still have their box of cereal from '65 with the offer.

And now, a video with some brief clips from the highest viewer rated episode of "Batman!", the TV series. Sorry, but Julie Newmar as Catwoman doesn't make a cameo.

The Sir Douglas Quintet was posted earlier, but not this one (IIRC).

If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

Whoever compiled this is ignorant. Melanie and Bobby Vinton had considerably more than a single hit. Have they never heard "Brand New Key?"

Had the car radio XM on '70s on 7 with the old Kasey Kasem American Top 40 program from this week in '79 going this morning. Not a song, but an instrumental that got quite a bit of airplay on AFRTS then.

Somehow this video showed up recommended from YT after watching something on Custer's Last Stand. Can't recall if it's been posted earlier. A little psychedelic in the warm-up.

Funny. I was sitting out on the deck enjoying a cigar last night listening to the Moody Blues greatest hits and thought about posting that same song. Big Grin

Great band and great music.
