Most of the time the rev counter is above 7000 rpm. He made that V-6 sing!

He's also feathering the throttle in the middle of the turns to keep the revs up while the "rule" is don't hit the throttle until you can go full throttle. Like one of the YouTube commenters said, "That jacket got it right: BOSS."

That's how he drove in F1, too.
IIRC it was Jackie Stewart that had the 'don't get on the throttle until you don't have to come off' philosophy. I remember that fro. Top Gear with James May.

It's pretty standard instruction from coaches as Top Gear US repeated that when Boris Said taught Adam Ferrara how to stop driving like a New Yorker.

It's also something I did a lot in Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport since I ran automatics and had issues when the transmission wanting to upshift in a corner (another no-no) causing me to crash.
