Mannix.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Mannix - aside from being hit on the head so many times ... the character also used a Beretta 9mm, a .45 Colt ACP and a Walther PPK during the series. Supposedly from his previous employ with Interdect.

Frank Cannon.

Wikipedia: "He carried a gun for self-defense, usually a snub-nosed .38 Special revolver (which appeared to be a Colt Detective Special). Sometimes he used other guns (Including an M1911 and a B.A.R)."

Broderick Crawford - Highway Patrol

He always had a snub nose - when the situation required someone to take a longer shot, he'd send the sergeant to a hiding place to handle it.
