Vince Gilligan is my favorite TV creator/writer, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul his recent work. He is back into sci-fi (he used to write for X-Files) with a new Apple TV series, Plur1bus, starring Rhea Seehorn, who played Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. Premiers November 7th.

Not really too sure why there is a 1 in place of the I in the thread title. Took me a minute to find out if there was a thread started. (I guess it can be spelled with the stylized 1 as an I. I didn't know that shit)

Watched the first two episodes on AppleTV and liked it quite a bit. Pretty interesting Sci Fi concept and some crazy characters. I like Rhea Seehorn from BCS and it seems like it'll be worth staying with.

I'd like to be able to just jump in and fly a C-130. Plus who wouldn't like to ride in AF-1 as a personal jet.

I’m not a big sci-fi watcher but the show is pretty interesting. I like the connections with Breaking Bad and BCS, like the plane Carol is riding on has Wayfarer on the seats which was the airline 737 plane crash in Breaking Bad.

Spoiler Alert! The number one (1) in the title refers to the singular (alien) entity that most of the humans on Earth merge into, once they become infected.

I've been watching it with Mrs Pulicords. We both enjoy the series and the obvious similarities in writing, direction, and of course cast with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The "slow burn" and clues to plot twists that take place during the episodes are very enjoyable for us to try and figure out. We highly recommend it!

Your question made me wonder as well about using the stylized 1 in place of the I. I signed up for the six month special rate. Watched the trailer and it dawned on me.

Of course, pluribus is from the phrase “e pluribus unum,” “out of many, one. Pluribus being many, putting the 1 in place of the I captures the phrase.

They put the 5th episode out early this week. Wednesday instead of Friday. Makes it 9 days to the next episode drop and left it it on kind of a mini cliffhanger.

Man, this is a crazy show. I don't really want to say too much as not to spoil it for people who haven't watched it yet. I'm definitely enjoying Rhea's acting though.

I liked her in Better Call Saul; I didn’t watch Breaking Bad. But I think she’s playing the same character in different roles similar to Nicholas Cage or Steven Seagal doing different movies, different roles but same character.

In contrast, I was surprised it’s Renee Zellweger playing the role she’s playing. She plays different characters for different roles.

I’m not saying Rhea is a bad actor but she was cast for this role because that’s who she acts.

She wasn't in Breaking Bad.

Not too sure I understand what Renee Zellweger has to do with Pluribus.

I will admit that I haven't seen Rhea Seehorn in anything besides Better Call Saul. I do think she's doing a good job in the new series. Not really seeing that there is not a difference in the two characters and how she's playing the roles. I see a lot of difference between Kim and Carol.

They just had to make Carol a lesbo didn't they!
No reason for it at all, except to shove it in our faces.
Almost 1 hour of watching Carol try and deal with garbage pick-up and dealing with a hand grenade.
I'm quickly losing interest in this series.

Me as well. We get it, she has a bad attitude toward the aliens and all that but I don’t see it as building toward anything substantial as yet.

I'm pretty sure they aren't actually aliens.

When you put together what we just found out about the stuff they package in milk cartons (not milk), if you told me the consciousness of the invaders inhabiting the bodies came from bees, it would make sense.

There is a big reveal coming.

I’m in the second or third episode where the 5 unaffected people meet. I think I like this series.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Someone can correct me but I think this is the first sci-fi treatment where the aliens won and are just mopping up. Previous alien invasions get on the verge of being successful until they’re turned back by the hero.

It’s also early when they give us the aliens’ Achilles heel, just pure rage and they all go catatonic. I like the counterbalance of “what’s wrong with being one of them?”

There is the tricky part of not intentionally killing anything but will cook it for you if you kill it.

I wasn’t entirely thrilled with how they ended this latest episode. Cheap ploy that in no way left me excited for the next episode.

Hello, Carol.
This is a recording.
At the tone, you can leave a message to request anything you might need.
We’ll do our best to provide it.
Our feelings for you haven’t changed, Carol.
But after everything that’s happened, we just need a little space.

The voice on that message is clearly actor Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin from Breaking Bad). I've been wondering if he will show up later.

Digging the show. It's entertaining, creative, and made me laugh a few times.

If you think they were shoving her sexual orientation in our face, you need a hug. From a person of the same sex.

I'm impressed Rhea has carried two episodes all by herself.
