Chowser I’ll join you as the weirdo
I’ve got a benelli and an 870 marine magnum.
But I’ve been using a S&W m&p 12 bullpup for home duty.
It’s an ugly heavy beast but I like it!
I’m thinking about the KS7 next, so light and small.

Hey SF how do like that urbino? I've heard reports of the grip not locking into the trigger guard and the rubber slipping down during recoil.

I've run into that with my Urbino. With extended strings of fire, the rubber padded sleeve on the pistol grip will start to slide/shift down a little bit.

More a slight annoyance than a problem. Not likely an issue during a defensive situation, but something to look out for after running dozens of shells through it at the range. You just have to give it a good shove to seat it the fraction of an inch back up in place.

And not something that detracts all that much from the rest of the good stuff about the Urbino stocks. I still give them 4.9/5 stars.

Some years back I purchased a Remington 870 Field and Home 2 barrel kit.

I've used the 28 inch barrel to shoot skeet with and it does quite well but takes enough work that I don't make a habit of using it for Skeet. When I shoot a 4 gun Registered I shoot with my O/U guns. Point is that with a pump if you pre-tension the forearm so it comes slamming back when the trigger breaks you can achieve a 2/10 second split time and take the true pair on 7 every time.

Most of the time my 870 is kept cruiser ready with 4 rounds of #1 buck up the pipe with the 18.5 inch barrel mounted. Note I prefer #1 because I live in a brick home and hope the smaller pellets wont show damage from a strike on the exterior and it gives you the benefit of 16 pellets instead of 9.

I've stopped counting.

Like Scooter's, but with a Mossberg 500.

I've used the Raven Concealment velcro saddle on the receiver for buckshot and a buttstock for slugs, kept cruiser safe.

My "father/son" project with my dad was fitting a Streamlight Racker light on his 590 and set his spare shells the same way and it was a great improvement!

I haven't shot it yet since I changed out to the Urbino. Guess I got something to look out for on the next outing.

I just bought a Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol on sale at PSA. It is the shotgun I have been looking for all my life. I don't feel like it is crouching ready to pounce to attack my fingers like my G-Force was. I love it.

Gents,

Since I was the original poster, I thought I would post a picture of my new home defense shotgun. This one is a Beretta 1301. Recently, added a GG&G Side Saddle ammo holder and an OP Light (500/1500 lumen). This is a pic prior to me adding the light and side saddle. The 1301 is a really nice shotgun, but I'm NOT selling my Scattergun Tech 870!

I’ve got an old beat up 870 stored downstairs and a 14 inch 590 upstairs. Both are currently loaded with 00 Flite Control. I’m also fine with #1 or even #4. My hallways are short.

I own a Benelli M4 and it’s awesome, but if things go bump in the night I’m reaching for old reliable.

Benelli m4h2o with 7 round mag tube, cruise ready with one ghost load. (7+1). Federal flite control 00 8 pellet loads. Tlr2 light on a side mount with my left thumb. The 226mk25 is to fight to the benelli or the AR if targets are beyond reach of the shotgun.

Added the 1301 Mod 2 yesterday but haven't had a chance to shoot it. It feels great and the controls are the same as my A400 hunting shotgun.

I too recently switched over to a 1301 Mod 2 as my H.D. shotgun, actually now my H.D long gun, replacing a Mossberg 590.

I have to update since I just picked up a 1301 Mod 2 (still keeping the Wilson 870). It’s a very impressive shotgun - feels very lightweight and compact right out of the box. $1599 at my LGS (black with the straight stock).
