The subcompact is especially tight, but in a good way. Shorter rails on a tight fitting custom like pistol, needs to be broken in. Next time out I'd run +p or +p+ in them, especially the Subcompact. The higher velocity will help work it in quicker. These get to about the 1000 round count and get sweeter, smooth as glass. The triggers get a step better at 1k and a little more around 2k then level off. These should be treated like a high quality 1911 that was custom fitted. Run them on the wet side too in the beginning. Good luck.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Has anyone ever considered trying to have the sights drilled and trijicon inserts installed?

That has been brought up in the thread, and it is available. If one wants night sights bad enough, they can be easily had. It shouldn't have to come down to that though.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear of your wait, but it doesn't surprise me as Sphinx/Kriss is acting like Sphinx/Kriss.

I could have bought yours, but I waffled on it too long and missed out.

Another forum member is enjoying it. I kept the subcompact as it is a terrific carry pistol for well lit areas.

Congrats. It's become my carry pistol, I just have to keep a decent flashlight on hand. I've wanted a Sphinx since the 90's so I don't see myself getting rid of the Subcompact. Glad I got several extra mags before the big drop off. They're a little dried up as of late.

I contacted Gunsight and they sent me some photos of a SDP Compact that they installed night sights on. The down side is that they would have the slide for 10-12 weeks. Has anyone had this done? If so what were the results are they as sturdy as regular night sights?

I like the front sight! Could you provide a link or phone number?

They will do the front sight with a white, orange or green ring.

Does anyone knows the sizes of the Novak rear and front notches?

The Novak rear have two main parts; the sight and the outer protective base (forgive me if I'm using the incorrect terminology). Which measurements are you looking for? The dovetail or the sight notch width or something else? I started to measure the notches since we were more recently discussing night sights and then realized you may have been talking about the dovetail. The sight notch width is .12 and the width of the actual sight that moves inside of the protective base is .20 on each side. The depth of the sight has at least .25. Could be more but I can't be sure without messing up my zero. It could be deeper. I had to adjust the sight down once installed to compensate for the 6" or so drop.

I use the factory front sight.

10x,Thank you sir- wondering if a wc battle site rear would fit in that dovetail space?

You're welcome. In one of these threads (and there were two discussions of the Sphinx) detailed measurements of the Novaks were shared as well as the model number of the Novaks. If I remember correctly, the Novak that fit this dovetail fairly well was for a 1911. Maybe someone can chime in and verify that. If I find the particular post I'll share it. My Novak required a little shimming but they work great. I couldn't get a smith close by to do the work so I ended up doing it myself. I couldn't say for sure. There was little risk for me investing in these Novaks since someone else had tried them first and also because my fixed sights were all but useless. The question I would have is less about fitting the dovetail but more about whether the height would work with the existing front sight.

The pistol is great, the company is miserable.

The pistols look attractive, but, that's a straight-up deal-killer, for me.
