Ugh, I'm mixed on it. Bought one years ago, SAS version with the, "Melt", night sights and the SRT trigger. Did carry it quite a bit but then moved on to other things like lightweight 1911's.

Tried to, "Rediscover" it and carried it a few months ago. Was kind of, "Meh". Heavy for what it is. Thinking was a lightweight Commander is just as easy to conceal and is a .45 rather than a .40. My Sig P365 carries more rounds is smaller, lighter and a lot easier to conceal and comfortable to carry. Since then it's been on consignment at my LGS for quite a few weeks now.

That said, it handles the recoil of the .40S&W very well. The SRT trigger is sweet! Overall it's a great gun. It's a carry gun that won't beat you up at the range and is enjoyable to shoot. A trigger that's a lot better than any striker fired gun I own. All in all, it's a great gun, I'm just trying to thin the collection and I have other guns that fit that role in much better ways.

Of course it is but we are talking about 2 decades of design changes and consumer demands.

The P239 was always a little chunky even back in the day vs a comparable Glock or some HK’s but it always concealed smaller than it was and shot larger than it was and that was the beauty of it IMO.

To bring this discussion back up. For those with the P239 in .40 still, would you ever sell it at this point? I have one, and function tested a 9mm barrel I bought for it and it all runs like a dream but I find myself struggling with selling it or not. I don't carry it, I don't shoot it, and I don't think I will ever get what I put in to it back out. (Posted in Classifieds now).

After re-reading all the love for it, I find myself wanting to not sell it, but figure it will just sit in the safe as it always has. Between the P365, G26, etc that I have, I figure those will always get carried over the P239.

Just cuz I love something doesn’t mean you have to. If it’s not your bag ditch it.

I don’t like selling guns in general and that goes doubly so for reliable guns I have liked. So for me personally I don’t see me selling mine. I like the gun and I like .40 and that gun, as well as the P229 are like peanut butter and chocolate as far as the .40. Smile

I was afraid of, but expected a response like that Smile

I recently sold a couple other guns as priorities have changed with the family for camping and other hobbies I need to fund. Getting rid of the P220 was pretty easy as I just never could get in to liking .45 or the feel of that gun. I do love my P229 however in .40 and you are right, it goes so nicely with the P239 in .40. I will probably leave it posted a couple more days to see if there is interest and then just take it down and continue to keep it around a bit longer.

I have 3 barrels for it.
9mm, .40, and 357sig.

No plans to sell it.

It has sat in a safe since I bought several p365s.

I don't think I will carry it again, but I may use it for a nightstand gun.

I haven't shot my P239 .40 in about six years but I like the gun and don't think I will sell it. It's been in the safe since I went to a lighter weight Glock 43 for daily carry. I picked up a P365 two weeks ago and will likely be back to SIG for daily carry.

I have a few SIGs.

I just looked up the Kate Steinle killing... there are so many holes in that story it is ridiculous.

But.... in other news... I just spent over 8 hours this weekend trying to convert one of my DAK P239s to DA/SA... man what a learning experience....I can now break one of these pistols down and put it back together in probably less than 20 minutes.. The biggest and hardest part of this is getting the hammer strut situated exactly right and back on. Do any of you experts have a secret to this? This is the problem I was having with getting everything to work... Also I messed up and at first used one of mine that has a short trigger reset for comparison and there are parts that are different in it as to the standard pistol.

One of the first guns I bought way back when. I wish I still had it.
