Mine was a S&W Model 19 with 4" barrel. I bought it in 1982 from a co-worker who got it from his father who was a retired LE. My next was the original model Sig P229. Both were phenomenal hand guns.

The first one I bought was a P6 in 2008 (which led me here looking for info). Oldest I have is a Ruger Security Six that was my dad’s. He kept it in his work van for at least 20 years before I got it in 2012.

Mine is a S&W Model 34-1 .22 Kit Gun, given to me by a good friend of our family when I was 15 years old in 1972. I was given a choice of either the Model 34 or a K-22. This friend was my shooting mentor and partly responsible for my life-long interest in shooting and reloading.

I have a G19 Gen 3 that I purchased 13-15 years ago. It's easily had 30k rounds through it and nothing has broken. I replaced stuff to tinker with it but nothing was busted. It gets annual recoil spring replacement.

The first handgun I ever owned was a S&W Model 14 .38 Special 6” revolver given to me by my dad when I turned 18. I am now 50 so that is 32 years I have had that revolver. I used it as my duty weapon doing armed security back then. I still have it today in my safe. I still have the shotgun my dad gave me when I was 12, but this was about handguns. The first revolver I owned was a S&W mod 19 no dash 1975, than picked up a mod 586 no dash in 1978... both used in armed security back then. P220 Elite Full Size .45

Good old Glock gen 3 from 2005. About 10k rounds through it over approximately 70 range sessions with ZERO issues ever. Not a huge round count compared to some here though it has served me well in multiple roles.

4" barrel, 1918 Erfurt Luger. About 1963, bought from my dad's fishing buddy. Mr. Ben Oliver knew I wanted a Luger and he let me have it for $20.00. He kept it in his tackle box. I still have the pistol (and a couple dozen other military and commercial P08's). ------------------------------------------------------------ "I have resolved to fight as long as Marse Robert has a corporal's guard, or until he says give up. Thinking back, I believe it’s my 4” S&W Model 34 .22 “Kit Gun”, I bought at McBrides in Austin in 1979. The first good quality new gun I bought. I’ll dig it out and take a picture.

How ironic, I still have my issued Model 13 4" from 1983. ______________________________ Men who carry guns for a living do not seek reward outside of the guild. The most cherished gift is a nod from his peers.
