A 4” Rhino. I have the 2” for ultra deep concealment. It shoots 38 like 22. 357 feels like 38 out of the little sub nose. I want the 4” just cuz. I just want the fucking thing. BBQ gun maybe. Just love the platform. But I have no real practical use for it. It doesn’t help they are $900 and change. One day…

That's oddly specific, and makes me think that there's a pretty good story here somewhere that needs to be shared Big Grin.

Oh I'll try to find the "zine" I'm talking about. I swear I kept a copy. I don't know what happened to Matt after college, but he was exceptional, so it's either very good or very bad.

Concrete Santas, 5 gallon jugs of grits.. all tossed by a portable rapid breakdown rig that could easily range more than a block... and nobody died so far as I know.

Three people and medical tubing can also toss some shit...

Arc.

I just bought one of the new CZ Shadow 2 "Carry" pistols from Cajun Gunworks and before they even shipped it to me, I had it "Cajunized." Absolutely no need for it as I've got plenty of other CCW options that serve me well, but.... I had two other CZs upgraded by Cajun and the work they do on the trigger is simply outstanding. Getting something that so well tuned, is (I guess) plenty of justification to add to the herd.

I carry Thompson in Vietnam ONCE. Spare loaded magazines were unbearable. I also carried an M2 Carbine but not enough OOMPH when firing at someone shooting back with an AK or SKS. Also used an M3 grease gun, forking waste of ammo, spray and pray and heavy spare magazines.

What I want? A S&W 500 Bone Collector NIB. Only 1000 made and I sold the one we got in to a friend before I could make up my mind.

I've been intrigued by them since ce they came out. Have handled a few, but never shot one.
Others have taken the priority over it. Like a GP100, I don't have a large use case for a revolver, but those 2 would be my shortlist of 'practical' revolvers.

All the time. Otherwise, I would only have four guns: a .22 target pistol, a .22 target rifle, a carry pistol, and a trap/clays shotgun. Let's just say I have a lot more than that ...

The day of my 21st birthday I bought a Norinco 1911A1 at a gun store in Arlington, TX.
I bought it because “America, Texas, 21”.
That was in 1992.
Everything since then…..
I raise beef cattle, so I don’t hunt.
I shot competition for a bit, but that was secondary justification at best.
So, yeah…”no practical reason” fits as well as anything.

Yup. I now have 2 1911 Commander sized 9mm’s coming. Grabagun was selling their slightly odd Emissary at a crazy low price (44% off msrp) and I couldn’t resist. Wont fit any of my holsters and it certainly ain’t “classic” styling. (2nd one is a plain Jane Garrison Commander 9mm)

You don't have to justify "need" for any gun. If you want it, then that is good enough reason to get one for yourself.

I was able to not need one in 50AE or .44 Magnum. Never thought of them as practical, but they sure are fun!

I just checked my gun safe and yes, I have several items that fall under the no practical reason.
As already mentioned, to want: BAR (full auto), Thompson SMG, M79, I would also like a Gatling gun.

Nice! Are those extended factory comps or aftermarket?

I bought an H&K VP70Z years ago because I liked how it looked in one of the Resident Evil videogames.

I've also always wanted an AMT Automag III in .30 carbine. Just because the fireball makes me giggle. Actually saw one at the Harrisburg Gun Show on Saturday. Didn't want to spend the $1200 asking price.
