Meanwhile I was trying to date a P245 I ran across, and it seems SN# C 010480 would be 1999. Now if I can only scrape-up the money.

Just got my first Sig. last week.

Two tone with silver color trigger and controls.
Frame says Made in Germany.No rail.
Excellent condition, gunshow find. Came with Hogue wraparound grips only
I know nothing else about it.

I just purchased this Sig P226 40cal and was trying to find the manufacture date? I called Sig Sauer, but their records don't go back far enough for my serial number.
The Frame is German and the slide doesn't have any of the markings so I am assuming that it is US assembled.
The serial number is U 5821XX

Any help would be much appreciated.
