I have a S&W Shield in .45 that I carry occasionally. It was my full time EDC until I got my P365. Still keep it in my Jeep.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

Guys worry about running out of big bullets when the marauding hoard overtakes the cafe. More 9’s.

Lately it's either been my Colt Defender or my Colt WC LW Commander, both in 45 ACP.

Four years later and I have to change my mind. I thought that the 45 and 9mm would always be part of my EDC. The four years have made a difference. I used to love shooting a 45, but bad, and getting worse hands and wrists make shooting the 45 ACP no fun at all. 9mm for me from here on out. Frown

I was still carrying a P220 Compact pretty regularly up until a couple of weeks ago. I still love the gun, but I got a P229 SAS in 9mm and it's hard to turn down a platform that holds more than double the rounds in the same size package with almost the same feel and identical manual of arms.

45 is still bedside but P365s are cheap and high-capacity so that’s what gets carried.

I’ve never owned a 9mm in anything and have no plans to do so. I’ve never been a herd mentality type.

I have no issue with relying on 45acp, 38spl, 357mag, 12 gauge or 22lr for anything I need.

Split time between Kimber Ultra Carry in 45acp, and Sig 365XL with TLR& sub

Here there is no failure, only varied degrees of success!

Sig p220 is the nightstand gun, and when I'm not carrying my 239 in .357sig it's my p245. Im' a fan of 45 (as well as .357 sig).

I am pretty much only carrying 9mm with the occasional 38/357 joining the fun. I still have my Wilson CQB/c and the milt sparks rig I used to carry it. i still am pretty well stocked on 45 gold dots and practice ammo. I do still have a 1911, 220, or FN FNX at the range pretty regularly. I’ve almost completely gotten out of 40s&w and 357sig with one gun that shoots them both. I’ve been reloading more for 45 lately and I’m gathering the equipment to reload for 44mag, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m shooting and carrying 9mm at least 90% of the time.

I forgot to add that an HK USPc 45 is my nightstand pistol with a 10 round mag. I also have the UTL light with the LED conversion on it.

I seem to have developed a four-gun rotation with my Glock 36 alternating with my G26 or my G27 depending on the day. The S&W 638 Bodyguard is awful handy and has been with me for many years and stays close to hand.

My Sig GSR-1911 is my church carry gun. For out and about, it's the P365 or the P228.

For me, the .45 only sees night stand duty these days. For that I use my G21sf with a TLR-1 and a TTI +4 so I have 17+1 ready to go.

For carry it’s either a P365 or a J Frame in my pocket.

Gents,

I find myself conflicted. I've carried a 1911 pattern pistol most of my life and it's served well. On the other hand the 9mm will do the job and offer more rounds available. I may go for the best of both worlds and carry my Springfield Prodigy DS 2011. Had it at the range yesterday and it's a peach and can hold up to 26 rounds.
