Would kill for a reissue of the old school P225 as well...

Highly doubt that will happen. The German old school machinery for making the folded slide is long gone.

That makes me sad, as I would love to see a retro line of the P225 and P228. Cool

SIG made another rendition of the "P225" stateside for a while which wasn't the same as the original German P225. The mags weren't even compatible with the originals from what I understand. Instead of re-inventing the proverbial wheel, they should have just manufactured the P225 with the original style frame topped off with a milled slide (like they are doing with the re-creation of the P226). I would love to see a new production all steel or all stainless steel P225 provided it resembled the real old school P225 we all loved.

^^^ The P225-A1 has zero compatibility with the original classic. It was just a reshaped P239. I agree "they should have just manufactured the P225 with the original style frame topped off with a milled slide", but no, they had to pulled some bullshit. Roll Eyes

I think I bought the older 226 in yellow box in the 1980`s he wants to give me the old one and 300 bucks for this Navy , is this a good deal ?????

It's never too late. Like you guys, I was also hoping SIG would remake the classic P225 with a milled slide (short extractor, of course). This would have also given those of us who like the original P225 more access to reasonably-priced factory mags. Along those lines, I was also hoping for a new P228 with a milled slide and a short extractor (basically a Legacy 9mm P229 with full-height serrations).

FWIW I genuinely liked the 225-A1 save for the P239 mags. That SRT was amazing and I could run mine like a champ. I'm tempted to grab another at some point just because.

Back on topic, I do really like the 40th aniv P226 and will start to look for one now that I see that they are out in the wild.

Love this! SIG should do a P229 and P220 “Retro” also!

I didn’t want to read every post to see if this was asked and/or answered. Does anyone know what the production numbers will be on this 40th Anniversary one? They only made 226 of the 25th Anniversary model.

One is on my "buy" list. Based on my unscientific survey over the last few weeks, they don't seem to be flying off the shelves. Guess the $1200 price tag is a deterrent for some folks.

You’re making me want to check the receipt for my 25th Anniversary. I’m pretty sure it was more than that back then. But, it did have 24k embellishments, fancy grips and a display case. Also, there were only 226 produced. That’s why I’d like to know how many of the 40th are in this production run.

For a $100 more, why wouldn't one purchase a Legion?
