That's interesting, it made me do a double take. I wonder if they are rolling that change out to all P226's or if this is just with this particular gun. I heard them say in the video something about redoing the frame to be rail-less so maybe they took to opportunity to update it.

Current SIGs are already equipped with this.

That is good to know. I have not purchased a brand new P220, 226 or 229 in quite some time.

That’s a solid no. Can pick up a true classic W. German with box for that.

The MK25 still comes with the old style (probably for contract reasons). My recent M11-A1 (2023 production) also came with the old style, but I think that's just because they go through those frames more slowly. The railed P229s are still much more popular. So I bet the M11-A1 will switch to the new setup eventually. I was hoping this 40th Anniversary model would also come with the old style.

I'd be in for this, as well.

I agree that it would be nice to have the old style magazine release plate. It's not a deal breaker though, I get it. Ironically, I haven't bout any NIB Sig 22X models save for my M11-A1 and my Mk.25. I never noticed the change.

Any ideas on when this will be available?

Initially that price seemed high. But I stopped by an LGS the other day that is a Sig dealer, and they had pretty much every current production Sig in a wall of display cases. Almost everything in the case was over $1000, and the P22X guns were all closer to $1200 or above. I guess that's just the going rate these days Frown.

Somebody needs to find that guy and smack him, like right now! Sig is plenty good at doing that crap on their own...we don't need him giving them ideas.

I really like the gun but the price is up there. I love the old school simplicity. It reminds me of the early 90’s Sigs and S&W that I love.
I would not drop $1k on it but it is beautiful and I appreciate it.

A recent YT video mentioned (not a direct quote here) something like “they start shipping in a couple of weeks,” so I’m hoping that was accurate info.

I don't know, $1200 is a lot for a sort of stock 226. Especially when I have 2 West Germans, a 1988and a 1994. Which together, I did not pay $1200 for both.

^^^ It likely is. But the 'collector' gene in SIGoholics might not make them care. At least that's what SIG NH is probably hoping for. And if SIG happens to throw in a challenge coin along with a special 40th anniversary sticker while they're at it, who knows what'll happen? Roll Eyes

Very likely that this ends up as a gun I purchase. I am surprised Sig did such a good job on this gun and not what I have come to expect from them.

I looked these up after I read this - and dealer is 1140 on them ( +/- a few $ depending on which one you use )

Maybe they will run a sale on them and drop the price at some point.

1999, 25 years ago, a P226 was around $700 IIRC. Given how little our dollar is worth anymore $1,200 seems like a fair price to me.

My local dealer quoted me $1,226.00 out the door.
It appears to be on allocation and he's trying to get me one.
