Yet

Since you're monitoring the thread, it is my marginally regrettable duty to inform you that one day, you will buy a Glock.
Because, let's face it- if you didn't really care, you wouldn't be posting in this thread, would you?

It kinda happens that way, doesnt' it...

Hilarious that a thread about glocks on a sig forum has by far the most views of anything at close to 400,000 hits....

Look.

It is almost a duty for a gun owner to at some point own a Glock.

Even if you turn tail to them and leave them behind, in today's world you can hardly understand the gun culture or mechanics of modern weaponry without them.

Said by one who avoided actually owning one for many, many years.

Same thing could be said about a Smith revolver or 1911 in 1960 or 1970.

The Glock pistol is King.

King bowing to the power of Emperor SIG, of course... Big Grin

The high number of views is due to the fact that the thread is more than three years old.

And that most folks coming here expect a mostly SIG discussion thing going on. Then they notice this Glock thread that's....213 pages long and are like "What the?!". They start reading and realize they too own a Glock and are drawn in. Or worse...go out and buy a Glock!WinkLord knows its driven my obsession with the Austrian popgun! Dale

It may be "King" but Glocks will always be considered the "bastard" (king) of the hangun world. It will always be treated as the "outsider" usurper. And the Emperor/Dictator is 1911 in perpetuity whether you and I agree is irrelevant.

As I said WAY early in this thread, the finger grooved ones still don't feel the greatest in my meat hooks but I finally did find a Gen 2 23 at a good price. $300 from a buddy who wants me to try it first and then pay him whenever I have the money. The guys a saint I tell ya. Smile

I think they are like 1911s- you gotta at least try one and own one if you can.

Even if it doesn't feel great in the hands, I just can't overlook the reliability and simplicity. At least for a SHTF gun, I can buy the spare parts I'll need AND the gun for less than a great deal on most types of sig pistol...

So I am one gun closer to having the ability to fire any ammo I may stumble upon. Wink

Wouldn't be prudent at this junction.

This is a SIG forum, so I will say they have their appeal. But Glock is stiil the leader in my eyes. Revolutionary design; great reliability; no extra levers to fiddle with; light weight; AND many different models, in several calibers. You may call me a fool, but have been involved with handguns since 1973. I like the poly/striker fired designs. Own (pistols only) one SIG; one SIGMA; one XD; two 1911's; and five Glocks. Hope to enjoy and explore the world of SIG's now. Cheers.

Father forgive me, for I have sinned! I sold three Glocks this week, a G29SF, a G21SF, and a G26. My two G20SFs and my G17 are safe.

Darn you all!!!

I have tried so hard to resist. I like pretty things that are also useful. Fine polished machined steel is part of the appeal of firearms to me.

But everyone is Glock this and Glock that, always go bang, run them over with your truck and no problems, Chuck Norris can't even break a Glock, etc etc...

So I bought a used 2nd Gen Glock 17 today. Not a smoking deal but not bad for an impulse purchase.

Not pretty but it fits my hands well which is hard to do. I have weird hands where a Browning highpower feels good but a Sig P232 doesn't. The Glock feels good though.

So, I am now a member of the dark side. If my wife asks me if I bought anything today I will just answer "Tupperware".

Anyone know what brand night sights came stock on the 2nd gen guns? My tritium tubes appear dead to weak, so i figured I would just replace the tubes instead of the whole sight.
