Ice age heat wave, cant complain. |
I'll want to handle one of these. When I transitioned from my G26 to the 43X, I also looked at the P365 but found it too small for my liking. I have a few bucks invested in 2 43X's but I also enjoy options, so I'll check this out when it hits my LGS. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

If the going price is 799 or less this thing is a steal based on Sig pricing. If you tried to build this at Sig catalog prices it would cost you. FCU 349 Slide 499 Barrel 120 RSA 30 Grip module 40 2x Mags 70 That is over $1100 bucks. Which is nuts. At 800 or below actually entering reasonable territory to me. I obviously will pick one of these up.

It was not evil that made me dangerous. It was love. |
I just need more companies to make holsters for the new Macro. For God and Country, Shannon

Don't Panic |
Wait till the SBR version comes out. (Hopefully, I'm joking) Being serious for a minute. The P365 hit a market/design sweet spot, and owns the 'easy-to-carry-high-capacity' positioning, and became, functionally, its own brand. Now SIG wants to find out where the edge is. Brand extensions are iffy marketing. Not horrible, not always counter-productive but they do run risks. What does a brand mean? What if Kleenex did waste baskets? If Kleenex came out with toilet tissue, would people freak? How about car tires? At some point, the naming runs out of gas.

I had a chance to handle a Macro at LGS today and overall I liked it. I will probably get one (along with an SAS version) just so I can say I have all the P365 models. In the pictures I had seen the Macro just looked “unbalanced”, for lack of a better term. The grip just looked sooo long. In person it doesn’t look bad at all. The only thing I didn’t like is the thick baseplate on the mag that hangs out about a 1/4 inch from the grip. ( The same way a Magpul mag sticks out of a Glock 19) I’m sure we’ll see some flat baseplates, and some +1 or +2 extensions in the aftermarket before too long. I can live with it until then. But it just looks weird. Also, I agree with some other comments about a longer barrel. Sigs, HKs, S&Ws, Rugers, Wilsons, Nighthawks, Colts

Count me in. Yes, I paid full MAP/MSRP, but I don't have any other hobbies so I'm good with it. The gun feels great in the hand, and is the "right" size. Shooting is very much like the XL, though the longer grip is nice. Subjectively louder than the XL, and fractionally less muzzle rise IMO. More play time is needed, but so far this one is Powernoodle Approved.

Very nice, Noodle. How's the trigger? NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

Most accurate answer I think is that its what you might be used to in the P365 and the XL. I've always thought those triggers are pretty good. As they all employ the same guts/fire control system, it would make sense that they shoot the same. I do prefer the old school curved trigger, but its no biggy.

On a related note, the 17 round mag in the P365 is badaxe. Hopefully XGrip will make a sleeve for it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: powernoodle,

Agreed. I just got hands-on with one today. Kinda like the P322 grip, I thought. Put it beside the XL, and it appears you get the shorter 365 barrel with the comp taking up the extra part. The best part for me was I was easily able to put it back down and walk away. Not even a 2nd thought over my 365XL.

I am going to wait for the Holy Macro! It's rumored to be a triple-stack that will revolutionize the industry. Suddenly, all those people toting the currently popular stack-and-halfs will feel the need to trade those guns in for a Holy Macro or risk being inadequately armed.

Then, the Batman model will naturally follow it. You know, with the bat wings at the rear of the slide similar to the HK VP9's Dumbo's ears. LOL. Q

Sure. The Batman edition. It could double as a boomarang providing a non-lethal option.

I picked up my P365 Macro this morning and after 1 range session I'm happy with it. 150rds fired, 3 brands of ammo, all 115gr. Fiocchi, PMC and Browning. Zero malfunctions. Accuracy was as good as any of my other P365's. The below target is 15rds at 7yds, pretty much as fast as I could pull the trigger. The internal comp does its job. I don't really feel less muzzle rise but it does get back on target quicker than my P365XL or my P320 X-Carry. I also placed the Macro upper onto a P365XL grip module and ran another 50rds through it with no issues. Once I run some more ammo, this pistol will likely replace my P320 X-Carry. Lastly I paid $760 for it at a small local Pharmacy/Gun Dealer. There is a large shop about 1.5hrs away that had them for $799 and another large shop 10 minutes from my house that had them for $879. Hopefully magguts will bring out some +2 springs for these mags to make it a 19+1 gun. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sigarms229, Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

Lost, but making good time |
We got (5) into stock yesterday where I work and I was able to handle one. I’m usually not all that impressed with new offerings from the big manufacturers as working in a gun shop the past 6 years has somewhat soured me on new production line guns. I was impressed with the way the gun feels in my hands. It’s hard to believe it holds 17 rounds. I don’t care for the comp cut slide and would rather have a stock 365XL barrel and slide if I were going to purchase one. I took the slide off of my P365XL and swapped it with the Macro slide and it felt and balanced much better. The other advantage is a slightly longer sight radius. I compared the Macro to the Springfield Hellcat Pro and it’s practically the identical size. With an added two rounds and factory nights, the Macro looks like it may win the head to head competition with it. But in the end, it’s all about what you like. I don’t think I’ll buy a Macro, or Macro grip module and mags because I feel I have my carry gun rotation set. I can’t see spending the money on new holsters, mags, and spare parts for a slightly slimmer gun with essential the same magazine capacity. If I were looking for a new carry gun, I’d definitely give the Macro a look. BTW, all 5 Macros sold today Bye for a while, guard the fort. - My Dad

I normally like the Honest Outlaw videos but that one was like nails on a chalkboard. Too much back and forth with the camera woman. Plus I totally think coming from the custom shop does nothing, nada, zero to the fcu. I have 3 and they are indistinguishable from the normal factory except color in some cases and flat trigger. I doubt they give any extra attention to these.

For those that got one, is the slide extremely tight on the frame?? I saw a youtuber have the same problem. Went to my lgs and. the salesman could not manage to close the slide by hitting the slide release. He had to grab the slide to unrack it.
