Those who like to tinker or build FrankenSIGs probably know Matrix Precision has been offering small parts and 80% frames for some time now. But they have stepped up and now offers complete frames. I just received one of their 228 frames, named REV228, "REV" for Revenant Arms, and the quality is first-rated. Finish is hard anodized, and the only way to tell the difference between it and the original factory frame is the REV228 has a subtly more squarish and more robust looking trigger guard. I had an orphaned complete P228 upper hanging around and the complete small lower parts from the cracked P228 Nickel from 2019. So, the result is a completely "new" gun, the REV P228. Everything fit perfectly, and frame-to-slide fit is pretty tight. All functions checked out. Test firing soon.

UPDATE with range report

Knowing the stock plastic grips, being too squirmy, were not going to give me a good session, I swapped them out right away for the Hogue G10 Piranha grips. Preloaded all the mags with 250 rds of various brands, weights, pressure and configurations. Onto the range. Went through them in a flash. Not a single hiccup. The old action is smooth and fantastically crisp. What a great day it was. How can it not be great, shooting this obsolete gun?

On a side note, this is Shiloh Range, which changed ownership a little over a month ago, and I'm glad it did for the better. Just the new target posting system is a huge plus. The previous owner and the the old crew, while extremely nice people, never bothered to update that system, which sucked big time.

Sweet, would make a nice addition to a 22 conversion kit.

Please tell us more about the two wood pieces labeled 'slide block'.

Just my way of quickly making the slide block for the folded slide using some spare wood laying around. The 2 pieces are screwed together into one. And the hole you see on top is for tapping out the 2 breech block roll pins from the slide.

Nice that you put all of those parts back to use, well aside from the shattered locking insert if I recall correctly.

Well, you were the one who correctly guessed the broken part to win the Karma. But, you never answered my attempts to contact you. I no longer have that red dot (think it was the PRO), but I have a different brand RDS to offer, if you want.

Yeah, everything is from that gun, except a different locking insert.

Um...well the reason why you don't have that Aimpoint is because you actually sent it to me. Worked great too. One of my nephews loves it.

Been looking to buy a P226R, but even blue label prices are high. Scored a blem P226 lower with rail from Matrix Precision for $139 with only $4 shipping. Got the last one! Something finally worked out for me.

What’s the story with the scratches on the slide?

There was a thread on these frames not long ago. I bought the "2269", 226 frame, 229 slide version and will pick it up next week. I have 2 complete P229 E2 slides to use including a Pro Cut one that I have a DPP mounted to.

Question: Was the sear spring seat pin pre-installed or did you install that yourself? I have detail stripped classic Sigs several times and this is the only part I have never installed because I have never removed it. I have a new one and plan to install it as the first thing I do if needed.

It came pre-installed, which is a big plus. You can see the sear spring seat spin from the old gun sitting all alone in the 3rd pic (right between the screwdrivers).

Looks even better wearing the G10 grips.
