Gentlemen,

Your prayer has been answered. I put in a request for a no rail no tail REV226 frame, and the horse's mouth said "I am going to have to make the non-railed 226." So it was written. And so it shall be done. Big Grin

Do you think they will allow pre-ordering?

There is always a sizable gap between people who say they will buy something and the number that actually do. I don't want Matrix Precision investing resources into something that won't turn a profit for them.

I think it would be nice if they could get 100 pre-orders to justify doing a run.

No need to pre-order anything. It is now available. Love this company. Totally responsive to customer's wants.

$199. Plus, use code M4NWQUWJ for extra 15% off.

The list of spare parts on the website is both extensive and prices are not bad. Sig factory night sight sets at $47.50 is pretty damn good. Ordered a set, and hoping to see a locking insert for the 226 soon.

I am using the GGI ELS, strut, mainspring seat and SRT. All the other parts are factory except for the extended mag release from Matrix Precision. I know the Pro Cut slide is not everyone's cup of tea but I already had it and a Romeo 1 Pro, DPP and SRO.

I put 180 rounds through it with the R1P mounted; 50 RA9T and the rest Blazer Brass 115gr and my 147gr reloads with no issues at all. I used 3 different magazines, new Mec-Gar 18 round, Mec-Gar marked 15 round and some older 15 round dovetail phosphate magazines.

I plan to shoot matches with it this year. It fits a JM Custom kydex holster made for the 229R.

Is that a factory takedown lever?

Also, are those Sig P226 grip screws?

How did the locking insert fit in the frame? I haven't built mine yet, but I noticed my OEM locking insert has more side-to-side play than any of my factory Sigs.

This does interest me. I love to tinker with guns. Now if I could find a donor P228 for the right price. I know where one is but they want a little to much for it. The frame has some damage from being dropped. A good candidate for replacement. Hmmmmm.

Yes, that is a factory takedown lever. I bought a couple brand new over 10 years ago and they have been in my parts box ever since, along with several springs that I used for this build. Yes, P226 factory grip screws as well. I had new P226 "thick head" screws but I decided to buy a new set, from either Sig or MGW.

Because this is a long extractor slide, I used a new 229-1 locking insert. It fits in the frame well and there is no play at all with the takedown lever, it's an exact fit. The lever actually takes some force to turn down but I expect that to change a little as I put more rounds through it.

I used a new P226 hammer stop and pin and for the ejector I used part 1201488-R. Ejector-3 should work as well (I had both). Do not use Ejector-2, it's specifically for the P226 40/357.
