I ran across this one here in NC fairly close by. I thought it was nice enough to make a 3 hour drive to pick it up. It is a 1990 KA P225 in the green box and with the manual. Factory test target is MIA. It has been shot but very little. The story goes that the original owner was ATF agent, since they were issued 225s,( I have since been informed that most agencies were issued 228s, maybe 225 was a back up) he bought one for personal use. I know , buy the gun not the story, in this case both were pretty cool.

Nice score. See if the test target is underneath the cut out. Sometimes they were folded and in the manual.

Checked under the cut out and in the manual. Not there. It so nice I was sure the target would be there but not this time.

Thanks for looking. Short reach triggers are not for me. For some reason I get a finger pinch with them. Standard triggers only for me.

At that price, I suspect he's referring to sort reset(SRT), not short reach.

Nice gun. The P225 is one of my favorite range guns. I just love shooting it.

OK, got it. I do like the short reset. My 239 has the short reset. That's worth doing.

Enjoy that nice 225! I’m sorry I can’t recall the member that made better mag base plates for them.
The only gripe I had with mine was the baseplate sitting near the middle of my pinkie.

The short reset was courtesy of 12131 in one of his generous karmas. (God bless you Q!)

Believe it was BDavis who used to make the base plates. I might be dreaming but I thought I’d heard that he’d passed a while back. Hopefully I’m mistaken.

Found this old thread regarding BDavis.

It is the identical one I sold on the Sig Forum classifieds a couple months ago, it went to a buyer in NC, who then quickly listed it for resale. I can positively ID it by marks and minor wear on the box edges, and a small light spot on the left side of slide, and of course the SN. It's previous owner before me was a retired Federal Agent and Certified Fire Investigator who worked some of the biggest arson cases in USA history, and was a good friend of mine, deceased in Dec 2021.
