Great pistol. Buy mags for it when you can, they are getting scarce and pricey.

I can positively ID it by marks and minor wear on the box edges, and a small light spot on the left side of slide, and of course the SN. It's previous owner before me was a retired Federal Agent and Certified Fire Investigator who worked some of the biggest arson cases in USA history, and was a good friend of mine, deceased in Dec 2021.

Awesome to hear. Yes he told me the story about the gun. He told me yesterday he knew he was going to miss that gun. As I said I spent 6 hours on the road to meet up with the seller. It was worth the drive. Thanks for joining in the discussion. Big Grin

I bought my 225 new in April 1986, sold it in 1989 when I got laid off from PD job and just happened to meet up with the guy in 2011 and asked if he wanted to sell me the gun back..he did !! Now its where it belongs and two of my sons have their eye on it..Box was still complete, manual, test target and hand tag. And I did pick up a few extra mags when the were cheaper. Great gun for sure..would post a picture but cant figure out how to do it here..

Sent you an email. For clarity to the forum, the quick resale was not to flip for profit, but to fund another purchase.

I can verify this as well. Seller found his grail gun ( an HK or some sort) and was selling the P225 on the Carolina forum to fund the purchase of the HK.

Uh huh

Boys and girls, if I find you flipping guns via sales in this forum, you won't be happy with the result.

I apologize for interfering with your thread, but anyone who buys or sells in the Classifieds of this forum needs to understand that I will not tolerate flippers.

At the same time I was working on the P225 deal, I was in search of a P228. I was contacted through my WTB add in this forum about this one and decided to take the deal. Also a KA 1990 model and a complete package box, manual, and target. It has seen a lot of rounds. In fact when I disassembled it to clean and lubricate I discovered a broken locking block insert. To his credit the seller is going to cover the cost of a new locking block. I found one on ebay and it is on the way to me. I wanted one I could shoot and not feel bad about doing so. Other than the broken locking block she is in fair condition and will make a good shooter.

Another beautiful gun. I’d love a classic P228.

There is something about the classic P series guns and you snagged two great ones! Congratulations.
