My daughter worked at a Starbucks in the past, I would swing by there to see her and get a heavily discounted drink, I tried a bunch of their swill and never found one that I would go and pay full price for. hell, I never found one that I would order a second time, they suck

They do sell cold brew in supermarkets, it's probably number 3 on my list to buy, behind Stock and Califia, it's fairly decent, theres no barista serving me in the kitchen, or homeless people.

It's no where near as nasty as Bizzy that stuff makes StartButts taste like water..

Typically buy it when it's on sale vs the others

I detested Starbucks so much that in a fit of passion I purchased a bunch of their gift cards - I think it was $20 or $25 each and I gave them to homeless people in the area of the store on Grant just to piss them off

One thing I can say is the coffee business is very competitive these days. I work in a small town, under 13K population per 2022 census and there are 5 coffee shops, plus the various fast food joints that serve coffee too. Not sure how businesses expect to carve out a market share adequate to sustain profits like that

I couldn't agree more. I used to get the frozen coffee drinks but they changed them years ago and the taste got worse.

We go about every other week after church. My kids like their cake pops. Nothing for me, never liked their hot coffee. Agree it tastes burnt to me.
The 2 near us are usually staffed by nice kids & not the usual SB fare.

I used to frequent them all the time.

They lost me with all the trans woke nonsense.
I don't think that's why they're hurting though.

Honestly, who can afford to pay $12 for a mediocre drink that should cost under $2 and a crappy re-heated pastry?

They offer no value.

Starbucks has unceremoniously dumped its CEO this morning, and snagged a very prominent CEO from another chain.

New York CNN —

The Starbucks CEO revolving door keeps spinning as the company struggles with sinking sales.

Laxman Narasimhan is stepping down immediately after just a year in the role, the company announced Tuesday. The struggling coffee chain has tapped Chipotle CEO and corporate fix-it man Brian Niccol to be its new chairman and CEO, effective September 9.

Niccol, who will be Starbucks’ fourth CEO in just two years, has been leading the Mexican-inspired food chain since 2018. Starbucks said he has set “new standards in the industry and driven significant growth and value creation,” pointing to its revenue growing nearly 800% during his tenure.

“Brian is a culture carrier who brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving innovation and growth,” said Mellody Hobson, Starbucks’ new lead independent director, in a release. “Our board believes he will be a transformative leader for our company, our people, and everyone we serve around the world.”

If he's really gonna get it done, it's hard to believe he can do it without decoupling the chain with it's leftist roots. Transformative will likely be a word that the real vermin in the organization come to hate.

This situation may offer splendid entertainment.

I go to Starbucks when I must, which is a few times monthly. I’m an airline pilot and they’re often the only coffee option.

I drink it black. It’s mostly terrible; I’m well acquainted with low quality coffee from 21 years doing military stuff. It angers me to pay $4 for a bad cup of coffee, but no coffee is often a worse option and really it’s a first world problem.

I think they got too far away from their purpose: serving coffee. I’m in S America frequently and you can get good coffee cheap; it’s not rocket science. They expanded so much with other offerings, but now they do none of them well. It’s an intriguing business problem; I think they’d have been better off with a smaller menu of higher quality.

Curious if these locations have tables and chairs where you can sit with a laptop and work for awhile sipping coffee?

The closest location to me is drive-through only.

Contrary to many here, I don't mind Starbucks coffee, but I never buy it at a SB location. I used to buy their beans regularly when I drip brewed coffee and occasionally bought k-cups when I went through that phase. I've also tried their Nespresso pods.

As for the company, I think they've made some terrible decisions.

Maybe Brian Niccol should consider bringing Alissa Heinerscheid on board to help develop a ‘winning’ / no fail “woke” business strategy?!
