I am with Para on this one but I would be tempted to buy them an Omaha Steak box and make sure I put a wedding card from me on top.

Or take that weekend and go hog hunting and send her the gopro of the kill shots and dressing.

But there again I am ...how does my wife put it?...oh yea.... AN ASSHOLE Big Grin

Don't put any effort into it. Just disappear from their life. I might have a few choice words for someone who demanded to know why I've cut them out of my life, but I damn sure wouldn't go one inch out of my way to do it. They would just have to walk right up to me and ask me. Other than that, I'm not gonna bother.

BTW, I don't anything about the people involved, but if the happy couple is going to pull this kind of grandstanding bullshit at their own wedding, I give 'em 18 months and then they're done.

At Burning Man, one year, a group of nutcases were showing animal vivisection films on a big screen with very large loudspeakers. Think Saw, but with cats and dogs and bunnies. They were vegan activists bent on showing all of us meat eaters that we were evil murderers. Nobody on the street could get away from the sight or the sound.

A group of us set up a deep fryer, across the street from them. We fried up about 20 lbs of bacon and gave it out to everyone that walked by. The smell was wonderful and wafted right over their camp.
It was delicious.

"The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

Yeah, I'm sure you have your reasons, but if you like to hang out with leftists, you're just a glutton for punishment. Why in the world would you want to get within 50 miles of these stupid, insane people?? I don't care how "exciting" this silly Burning Man horse shit it. It's just not worth it. Plain and simple, life is too fucking short.

My wedding gift to the woefully misguided nut-munchers would be a metric ton of organic naturally produced aged human fertilizer, for their dehumidified, dehydrated plant food-stuffs. I hear you can register for that www.batshitcrazy.com (don't - it doesn't really exist)

The problem with these loons is not that they are loons. It's that they are tyrannical loons.

I'm with Para - sever ties now. She made it clear you are not an important part of her life.

You mean like inviting her to a family event with a full spread of meat based foods for the normal people and a small bowl of kale for her?

Forget the kale. She get's a 99 cent head of iceburg lettuce.

I would suggest a bowl of raw broccoli!

The Burn used to be heavily populated with libertarians and gun nuts. A few of us remain along with some liberal free-thinkers. There is still enough good to go with the stupid to make it worth the effort.

I'm curious to see more of their wedding or engagement photos...especially the groom's shoes.

I mean, I can only imagine he's an ardent vegan, so those shoes surely can't be leather. Or his watch band. Or his belt.
