My wife and I usually watch selected portions of the Winter Olympics. Speed skating (one of her native country's strong suits), some of the downhill and cross-country skiing, Biathlon. We also usually enjoy watching the figure skaters.

I don't know about my wife. It's not as if we've discussed it. But, for me, I find myself having no interest in the 2022 Winter Olympics at all. I can't say, for sure, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit it's likely because of where they're being hosted this year.

Question:
Do you plan to watch the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, in whole or in part?

Choices:
Yes
No

Question:
Do you typically watch (any of) the Winter Olympics?

Choices:
Yes
No

No and no, for a variety of reasons. Haven't for years.
You can ad China as just an extra reason this year.

I stopped watching the Olympics about 10 years ago. There is zero reasons why the networks cannot show all the sports online and without creative editing for "the personal side of the story."

I couldn't give a rat's ass about the guy and girl who were so poor growing up they could only practice ice skating when the ponds froze. Either they're good enough to compete at this level now or they are not.

I would rather watch Jamaican bobsledders and the women's curling events. Smile

I might watch a little. I love winter and I like competition and quite a few of the winter events. Who does not like shooting and skiing? Wink

I did not watch one minute of the summer games.

If they start the BS the mute will be activated or the off button will be.

There will be some great stories and competition. I understand those that will tune out. To each their own.

I've always liked watching some of the skiing, like the ski jumping and downhill and of course biathlon, so I'll watch that if I run across it. Other stuff, I'm just not interested.

I have very little interest in the sports they typically show. I dislike figure skating, just for starters. I do like some events, but . . .

The nature of the coverage is el-stinko. I don't care how little Suzy Downhill had to drive three hours back and forth to the mountain to practice and her mother was a one-legged single person with a stutter . . . you know what I mean.

The location doesn't make me want to watch them, either.

But my wife is obsessed with the Olympics. We watch far more of it than I have any interest in whenever they are on. I may log some time with the Nintendo Switch and headphones over the next few weeks.

I'd rather watch a turd swirling in the toilet bowl. It would be more entertaining...
