Probably not. I'm not interested in sports, anyway, and am not pleased that we are lending some aggrandizement to Communist China by participating. I do think that our fine athletes need venues to show their excellence, but don't think this is the right one.

Cross-Country Skiing-Finn Remi Suffers Frozen Penis in Mass Start Race

ZHANGJIAKOU, China, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The men's 50km mass start race at the Beijing Games was shortened to 30km but that did little to help Finland's Remi Lindholm, who needed a heat pack at the end of the race to thaw out a particularly sensitive body part.

Lindholm spent just under an hour and 16 minutes traversing the course in howling, freezing winds, leading to his penis becoming frozen for the second time in a cross-country skiing race following a similar incident in Ruka, Finland last year.

"You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished (the men's Olympic 50km race) ... it was one of the worst competitions I've been in. It was just about battling through," he told Finnish media.

With organisers worried about frostbite during Saturday's race, it was delayed by an hour and shortened by 20km. The thin suits and under-layers worn by racers, as well as plasters to cover their faces and ears, offered little protection.

Lindholm explained that he used a heat pack to try to thaw out his appendage once the race was over.

"When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable," he added.

I enjoyed the Russian team fail in the biathlon. Had the gold all sewed up until the last shooter Razz

I do enjoy the cross country events. Some real endurance involved.

Ski jumping and some of the combined events.

Bobsled, etc.

Glad it is over. But did enjoy some of it.

I watched a lot. Biathlon, Cross country, downhill, speed skate, even curling. I wish I knew the scoring system in curling.

It's about the athletes

Long ago I had my sights set on the Montreal Games in Freepistol. But life got in the way.

Nope. So many bad things about this Olympics it wasn’t worth my time. What I read about the Russian, oh excuse me the Russian Olympic Committee team in ice skating was enough to proclaim this Olympics dead to me. Go home without an earned medal? Test positive for a banned substance but allowed to compete anyway. Sochi? Fuck the IOC. I feel sorry for the real athletes but not enough to compromise principle.
