Read closely guys and girls. Elon claims 146k "orders placed" for the truck. Well, not really. Tesla has allowed people to pay $100 (fully refundable) to get on a list of the first folks who would have an opportunity to order/buy the truck. So it begs the question, how many of those 146k people will actually pull the trigger on one of these when the time comes? My bet, somewhere less than 146k. They talk about Tesla having a great quarter last quarter, but leave out the part where Musk is financed up to his hair line, and has never turned a positive net income quarter since Tesla began (and no, I'm not falling for that one 'good' quarter they had previously where they cooked the books using tax credits from some of Musk's other companies). No matter how well or poorly the other Tesla cars sell, the debt burden Tesla is carrying will eventually have to be recognized for what it is, and dealt with.
