At this point, I suppose I should change the thread title to reflect that the subject is now the Iran War.

I think this is a better option than starting a new thread, since we're now so deep into this one, and since the earlier discussion of the riots is related to the conflict.

reefs, he's turning them into man made reefs to help with the environment, improving that area of the sea providing a haven for coral, fish, and possibly in the future a great diving site for tourism...

It was ecologically sound......

More Tankers Come Under Attack as US-Iran Conflict Spreads

More tankers came under attack in Gulf waters on Thursday as the U.S.-Iran war escalated, and Iranian drones entered Azerbaijan, threatening to spread the crisis to more oil producers in the region.

A Bahamas-flagged crude oil tanker was targeted by an Iranian remote-controlled boat laden with explosives while anchored near Iraq's Khor al Zubair port, according to initial assessments.

A second tanker at anchor off Kuwait was taking on water and spilling oil after a large explosion on its port side.

Nine vessels have come under attack since the conflict broke out between the U.S., Israel and Iran on Saturday. Iran launched a wave of missiles at Israel early on Thursday and also sent drones into Azerbaijan, injuring four people.

The escalation comes after a motion to halt the U.S. attacks was blocked in Washington and as the son of Iran's slain supreme leader emerged as a frontrunner to succeed him, suggesting Tehran was not about to buckle under the pressure.

Around 200 ships, including oil and liquefied natural gas tankers as well as cargo ships, remained at anchor in open waters off the coast of major Gulf producers, according to Reuters estimates based on ship-tracking data from the MarineTraffic platform.

Hundreds of other vessels remained outside the Strait of Hormuz unable to reach ports, shipping data showed. The waterway is a key artery for around a fifth of the world's oil and LNG supply.

BP evacuated foreign staff from Iraq's Rumaila oil field after two unidentified drones landed inside the field, according to Iraqi oil sources.

Baghdad has cut its oil production by nearly 1.5 million barrels a day as the country ran out of storage and was unable to load tankers, officials told Reuters.

OIL PRICES JUMP AGAIN

Oil prices extended their rally on Thursday, climbing around 3%. They have risen more than 14% since the war started on Saturday, as U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran disrupted Middle East supplies.

A benchmark European gas price gained over 5% on Thursday to 51.30 euros per megawatt-hour. It has climbed around 50% this week so far.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin said that Russia could halt gas supplies to Europe right now, amid the spike in energy prices from the Iran crisis.

Qatar, which provides 20% of the world's LNG supply, halted gas production earlier this week due to the conflict. Other major producers such as the U.S. and Australia have little spare capacity to offset this lost supply, according to Reuters calculations and industry analysts.

The EU's task of refilling its gas storage in the coming months has become riskier and more expensive due to the Iran conflict and disrupted LNG supplies. It still imports some gas from Russia, planning to end pipeline supply by late 2027 and ban new short-term LNG contracts from late April 2026.

Asian importers came under further pressure from the disruptions in supply from the Middle East. China asked refiners not to sign new contracts to export fuel and to try to cancel shipments already committed, several people with knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.

The F-15 has a perfect record in air-to-air combat. 104 kills against 0 losses IN AIR TO AIR COMBAT.

IF these 3 were indeed shot down by a ‘friendly’ aircraft, the record is STILL 104-0.

All these ‘experts’ on social media trying to make these 3 shoot-downs into ‘combat kills’ have no freakin’ idea what they are talking about. . .

I doubt anybody in the US Navy is laughing at friendly fire incidents. I think it is a certifiable miracle that NONE of the 6 aircrew were killed.

So the thing that gets me about all these libtards protesting our efforts in Iran, is that they don’t CARE about the people of Iran. They are doing everything in their power to prop up the brutal dictatorship there. Even Hanoi Jane crawled out of her hole in Los Angeles this past week and spewed her opinion about it (I see she still struggles with self-image and self-esteem, the way she is desperately trying to remain relevant).

All they care about is trying to oppose/hurt President Trump. They don’t care what happens if they get their wish and Iran falls back under control of the bloodthirsty dictators. We saw those videos of people in Iran celebrating the deaths of their oppressors. We saw videos of Iranian girls throwing off their head-coverings and celebrating. We saw videos of Iranians doing the Trump Dance. We saw videos of Persians in the US celebrating the military operations there (what other people have ever rejoiced over the US bombing their homeland?).

Now, what do you suppose will happen to those people if the dictators can stay in power?

Dead.

All of them.

And anybody else they even SUSPECT harbors dissenting opinions about their regime.

They killed 40,000 people in the past couple months, just cracking down on dissent (real or imagined; it makes no difference to them). If Iran ‘wins’ this war and the old government stays in place, the backlash against the freedom- and peace-loving people of Iran will be horrendous.

Of course, libs don’t CARE about the deaths of innocent people. They WEEP over the death of a brutal dictator with tens of thousands (or more) INNOCENT deaths on his hands. Orange Man Bad. Nothing else matters.

Oh, and they claim us eevil conservatives oppress people with ‘alternate lifestyles,’ while willfully excusing Iran’s well-documented history of murdering these same people. Hanging them by the dozens from industrial cranes and leaving their bodies there as a warning to others. Throwing them off rooftops to their deaths. It seems that conservatives are more concerned for the lgbt people of Iran than the ‘caring, compassionate liberals.’

It’s ironic that people like omar and aoc cry and cry about the US ‘war on muslims,’ while they are doing everything in their power to SUPPORT the dictators that are actively oppressing and murdering muslims in the middle east. . .

Anybody have an idea what the Iran regime gains by attacking all of their neighbors?

Also confused by what dems gain by a losing war powers act vote. I know they don't really care about the Constitution. They either are protecting Iran, or just have to oppose DT whenever possible.

Blowback on the US Administration of "creating" regional instability, damage, injury and death and fears of an ever widening and greater war.

Sort of like a husband and wife blowing up a fight at Thanksgiving dinner with extended family. No one wants anything to do with either of them.

But everyone jumps in to demand the fighting stops.

PERSIAN GULF — In a sign of enormous good will, American forces helpfully converted 20 Iranian warships into submarines.

"Several Iranian warships are now sitting at the bottom of the Persian Gulf," reported War Secretary Pete Hegseth. "We hope the Iranian people take this complimentary act as a sign of good faith on our part that we are eager to resume negotiations and end this conflict."

As part of Operation Epic Fury, American submarines approached several Iranian frigates and corvette-class ships under the cover of darkness to carefully convert them to submersible watercraft with the use of Mk-48 heavyweight torpedoes.

"Did you know Iran had zero submarines? Zero submarines, it's true," President Trump said, following the successful mission. "Now they have at least twenty and more on the way. You're welcome, Iran!"

Unfortunately, according to sources, Iranian leadership had not interpreted the American's benevolent gift as well as Trump had hoped. In fact, the latest intel suggests Iran didn't like their ships being sent to the depths of the ocean at all.

At publishing time, President Trump, though hurt by Iran's ungratefulness, vowed to helpfully turn their city into a parking lot.

My guess is that they are trying to intimidate others to NOT support the US.

In that, Iran hoped that making it costly for others in the region, these countries would rise up and oppose the US involvement and blame the US for their dead citizens.

Seemed like a major miscalculation to me. I told my wife that this was the single biggest favor Iran could do for the US - by p*ssing off the ENTIRE middle east, these countries are now more than ever behind the US efforts.

I don't know what Iran was thinking.

See how it DID work against the UK, though. Their representative was on CNN stating that the UK has nothing to do with these attacks, and please please don't shoot more missiles at our territory (and don't provoke the millions of muslims in the UK from lashing out in terror attacks on UK soil).

I’m well aware of the F15’s record in air to air combat! Please show me where I said it was air to air combat. It was Kuwaiti anti air batteries that shot them down. And I think the guy was just making a tasteless joke.
