I'm sure "spirit cookouts" and "satanists" and the like sound scary to some folks, but you can bet your ass it was more like a faggy art project get together that was meant to be "edgy" than some devil-worshipping bonfire of who knows what that actually means anything... I (as atheist as one can be, and someone who has met many, many others who don't believe) have never even met a single person who ever even spoke of such things in a serious tone who wasn't themselves an enormous fool or just fucking around. Nobody, basically, no matter how powerful or influential, no matter how crooked like Hillary, actually believes in the devil *and* worships it *and* has crazy real rituals. This shit may be weird, and distasteful, but it's harmless nonsense through and through. Satanists and Wiccans have even less credibility and are less scary than Scientologists.

I'd post a picture but Photobucket seems to be all hosed up tonight for some reason. Went to a MASSIVE rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania tonight and the venue (Giant Center) was filled to overcapacity with about 12,000-13,000 people and another 3,000-4,000 people getting turned away at the doors. We got there at 4 pm for a 7 pm rally and was in line for 1.5 hours. Trump got on stage at 8:05 pm and spoke for about 50 minutes, he was GREAT and had the crowd really fired up! Pennsylvania is going RED on November 8th, baby! | |||

I have had little or no direct contact with such people, but I have spent time reading Wiccan literature and still have a copy of The Satanic Bible (even the name is ridiculous). Your analysis is how it all appeared to me. Even the poor desperate individuals who turn to spells and strange rites in hopes of improving their lives don’t really believe what they’re doing any more than most followers of other religions truly believe that they’re going to get some sort of supernatural help for serious problems. if there's another flavor of "satanist" or "wiccan", I've never met one. sure, there may be some certifiably crazy people who have all manner of things twisted up in their clinically insane heads, but I don't for a second believe that real devil worshipping people who are sane and take that shit seriously actually exist in any number that means anything at all.
