An undesirable precedent, like the FBI being in the bag for one part over the other?

If I were Trump I would ask Comey to resign citing breach of public trust; and if he refused I'd fire him for the same.

If Comey's response to and role in the initial investigation isn't Adequate Cause, what is?

This is the topic on a lot of the political forums right now. Comey could have sit on this until November 14th, he could have ignored it entirely, he could have done a lot of things.

He did none of those. He thought about it, considered the effect it would have on the election, on Hillary, on his own position, and then, only then, decided to release this NOW, 11 days before the election.

Why? Why now? Absolutely EVERYTHING in DC, and in the media, is timed for maximum effect. You want something out, you put it out when it will do the maximum of what you are trying to accomplish. What was Comey trying to accomplish by putting this out on October 28th?

I'm sure they'll take some people down with them. If I remember right, when Hillary was First Lady she had something like 9000 FBI files in the White House.

Seems simple.

Yeah, well obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence would seem to be "adequate cause" to remove the director of the nation's top law enforcement agency.

It could be exactly this.

By doing this now, 11 days before the election, when he could have sit on it until after the election, can you imagine how fast Hitlery would get rid of him if she won? Comey had to think of it. Why would be do this? He would only do it if he was convinced that Trump is going to win and he wanted to try to position himself in a way that Trump could keep him and save face at the same time.

He has to be convinced Trump is going to win. Doing this otherwise on October 28th would be political suicide.

Comey did this for damage control, the investigation into Weiner was joint NYPD and FBI, Comey can control his agents and make them carry Hiliary's water, but not the NYPD Detectives, they must've found classified stuff from Huma or Hil on his device.
