The second presidential debate of the 2016 general-election campaign takes place on Sunday, Oct. 9, at Washington University in St. Louis. Here are details on the event. WHEN DOES THE DEBATE START? The debate starts at 9 p.m. ET and is set to run 90 minutes with no commercial interruptions. WHAT’S THE FORMAT? Preparations continue ahead of the second presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis. ENLARGE According to the Commission on Presidential Debates, the second match-up be a town-hall format. Half of the questions will be posed by the audience, and the other half will be posed by the moderator. The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization, the commission said. DID ANY THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATES MAKE THE CUT? No. Only Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton will face off. Not on stage: Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein, who didn’t make the 15% average polling mark needed to qualify. Paul Ryan et al. have been looking...no.... begging for an excuse to jump ship since they first heard Trump's name. He was a very real threat to their way of doing business as usual. The real question is how many actual VOTERS are going to bail with them? If he is able to win the debate tomorrow night,the ship will right itself at least to the degree that we can regroup for the next liberal media attack effort. Next weeks polling numbers should be interesting. For the record, I believe that this won't change any committed voters minds to any significant degree. You are in or your out.
