My wife loved watching the convention. Then she mentioned something about watching the DNC next week and a look of horror and disgust came over my face. I told her I wouldn't watch it, I'll just read about it on the forum. She insisted and I told her I'd need a double dose of blood pressure medication, some prozac and a barf bag.

She's a nurse and said she'd take care of that for me.

Did I mention that I'd rather hit my fingers on a cement table with a hammer than watch any speaker at the DNC? The stupid there will be greater than the oceans are deep.

What I can't wait for are the debates. Hitlery Rotten Klinton hasn't had a press conference or a Q&A in something like over 250 days. Teflon Don does it nearly every day. He's going to have her curled in the corner wishing she was already in prison.

Trump is just getting warmed up and I don't think he has hit his stride yet. When you look at how far he has come this far it is astounding how he learns and refines his message over time. I expect he will flesh out his plans with more detail as the campaign goes on. Trump will burn Hillary to the ground in the debates. Whether that will be enough to carry him over the top I don't know because of the great number of sheeple who will vote for the crook anyway. Its gonna get ugly and it will be a great show.

I'm not as confident as most of you that Trump can actually win in November, but if he pulls it off, I think November 9th will be a repeat of even more epic proportions on whatever the current incarnation of the left winger radio station is and I highly recommend tuning in.

Forget radio. You'll be able to actually watch the implosion like the house in Poltergeist on MSNBC.

I don't know why everybody is underestimating Clinton for the debates. Remember, we have yet to see Trump in a one on one debate. I have faith though that he'll be better prepared for her than he was for the Republican debates, but I also remember thinking Ryan would wipe the floor with Biden, so I only remain cautiously optimistic. These democrats--particularly the Clintons--are disgusting, diabolical, duplicitous vermin. The debates won't be a cakewalk.

Trump will have to debate the Hag AND the moderators. They will cover for her, and challenge Trump, at every turn.

My wife, also a Nurse, and until this election cycle a lifelong Democrat. (she did not vote for Obama either time) Says the opposite. I mentioned it should be fun to watch our now mutual enemy give her message along with the BLM speakers and she said there's not enough tranquilizers in the world to enable her to watch that "Shrill Bitch" speak. A reformed Democrat is a very interesting animal to watch indeed. Wink She changed from a Democrat to a Republican before the Primaries so she could vote for Trump. After 44 yr's on opposite sides, every election, it's been a very congenial peaceful household.

While this may be true, he's not a pushover like Mittens was when Candy set him up. He didn't stand up for the blatant breach in debate rules.

Don ran over 16 opponents while Rotten Klinton only had to fend off a well-behaved Sanders with the media on her side. And unlike Mittens, the media can't destroy Trump like they could with every other candidate.

That's just my take on it.

I admit that I purposely did not watch any of the convention coverage while it was happening, I tuned in to watch Trump and that was it

I was surprised at how smooth it seemed to go and I truly hope that the democrat convention will be a shit show of epic proportions

Just guessing that the entire convention will be about Trump and less about the Hildebeast because no one wants a serious discussion of her record and her past

as for a debate - I see no reason for the two to talk

why risk it and give the media a shot at The Donald

and it won't be a debate - it will be a series of scripted talking points

in a real debate, Hildy would lose and the media can't have that happen

Clinton is the one worried about the upcoming debates, and she should be worried.

Bitch won't even hold press conferences any longer, and she's then going to find herself in the presence of a brash billionaire whose stock in trade is extemporaneous remarks? Trump doesn't need to worry, because the truth is on his side. Clinton should be shaking in her boots, because Trump is apt to say anything, and she damn well knows it. Now, just how do you "prepare" for something like that?

Oh, and add to the fact that new dirt has surfaced since she stopped debating Bernie (E-mail scandal, Klinton foundation investigation, Benghazi report)...

There's no way she can deny accusations like she could with Bernie. I don't think she'll handle it well.

At this point I'll be surprised if she will actually agree, and show up, to a one-on-one televised/live debate vs Trump. How obligated are they? Has it ever not happened? Can she weasel out of it without incurring more than perception problems? Anyone know?

Exactly...hildabeast ain't stupid and she certainly will come with what her team believes is dirt. Trump needs to be prepared to debate specifics as well as get dirty.....the latter i am looking forward to.

If he brings his brain as well as his brawn it will be a great show.

There is no obligation. The DNC and RNC must come to an agreement. There has been talk that the DNC may only agree to one debate, probably at the behest of Hillary. Three at most. My guess is they will settle on at least two, but hopefully the full schedule of three.

Currently, this is the schedule, but it could change:

2016 Presidential Debates
Sep 26, 2016 First presidential debate, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
Oct 4, 2016 Vice presidential debate, Longwood University, Farmville, VA
Oct 9, 2016 Second presidential debate, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO
Oct 19, 2016 Third presidential debate, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

He's is much better speaking on his own. This was just talking louder for the most part, and slower, like I talk to my in laws when they would rather risk their uncertain English than my imaginative French.

He hit all the red meat issues ok, but he has been a lot better on the trail winging it.

For months, I've fretted that his speaking style was a cross between Shecki Green and Allen King, not at all like John Kennedy and say, Ronald Reagan. Despite that, it was natural and like those two comedians, attractive to a great many. Last night, he was less so, to me.

Maybe it will work out OK. Not many of my preferences are reflected in popular culture.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
