IMO, those folks in attendance when Paul Ryan speaks, should stand & turn their back to him.

Flynn, Christie and Gingrich have all been allotted speaking time. Pence? He's not on the list. Why? The VP nominee already has a designated speaking allotment....

Mia introduced a bill requiring one item per legislation to restrict these midnight hour riders.

Mia Love is a "Never Trump" so much for her being a rising star.

That's a pretty good lineup. Only real surprise is Marcus Luttrell. I remember him stumping for Perry, but I've never heard him endorse anyone after Perry dropped out or say anything in support of Trump.

Will be interesting to hear from Melania as well. To my knowledge this will be her first major public address. Not expecting much substance, but will be interesting to see how comfortable she is in public speaking. If she comes across as intelligent and well spoken, which I believe she is, then it will be a big benefit to Donald.

Anyone else notice the absence of Gov. Pence? A strong hint of what's to come?

Formally announcing that he's the man tomorrow morning at 11 I think.

Both Trump & Hillary had separate phone interviews tonight with O'Reilly re: the Cannes terror attack. Trump had a very precise message on the current happening in Cannes. He was very explicit & clear. Hillary was a f****** joke. "We need to share more info" "hold more meetings with allies" "respond strongly". If this is the best she's got, Trump is going to mop up her wide a** in no time at all. Not to be gleeful on the subject of terror. Just that the country needs leadership & needs it now.

"Dump Trump" fails in Rule Committee

THE DREAM IS DEAD: Kendal Unruh's #conscience amendment goes down with a whimper. No standing vote or roll-call, but it wasn't even close.

more from Politico

http://www.politico.com/story/...k-never-trump-225580

Donald Trump’s allies on the national GOP convention Rules Committee crushed a proposal Thursday aimed at dumping Trump from the top of the Republican ticket — and they sealed its fate further by passing an amendment to ensure his nomination.

The proposal affirms that delegates are unambiguously bound to the results of primaries and caucuses — meaning they can’t break with the will of voters and Dump Trump at the convention. It passed 87 to 12, and its passage was the first official sign that anti-Trump forces lack the votes to block Trump’s path to the nomination.

Minutes later, delegates easily crushed -- by a similarly large margin -- the long-touted anti-Trump measure to permit delegates to invoke a “conscience clause” to break from Trump and select another nominee.

Lead proponent of the conscience effort, Colorado delegate Kendal Unruh, appealed for support but saw the writing on the wall after the pro-Trump vote. She did earn the support of Utah Sen. Mike Lee, a top ally of Ted Cruz.

The failure of the pro-Trump measure’s opponents to cobble together 28 votes to reject the measure signals that efforts to unbind delegates are doomed. It takes 28 votes in the rules committee to advance a measure to the floor of the convention in the form of a minority report, a move that would let all 2,472 delegates at the convention vote on a potential unbinding measure.

In the end, the anti-Trump measure failed on a voice vote. Sensing certain and decisive defeat, delegates backing the measure declined to request a recorded vote.

more on the "stop trump" defeat

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-...rnc-rules-committee/

A last-minute plot to push a “conscience” voting provision through the RNC Rules Committee failed, virtually eliminating any options for the “Free the Delegates” movement to go forward and stop Donald Trump from getting the nomination on the convention floor next week

The rebels were trying to unbind pledged delegates for Trump to allow them to vote their “conscience” in defiance of state party rules.

An intense day of committee speeches brought out the remaining #NeverTrump heavyweights including Utah Sen. Mike Lee , delegate-revolt rebel leader Kendal Unruh of Colorado, Curly Haugland of North Dakota, and also former Virginia gubernatorial candidate and Ted Cruz-backer Ken Cuccinelli .

But the conscience exemption failed to such a degree that the rebels are left with seemingly no options to go forward.

“That actually failed 87 to 12,” Hughes said. “So people are still going to be bound by their state party laws.”

#NeverTrump could still try to get 28 signatures from Rules Committee members to force the “conscience” provision onto the floor for a full vote by delegates — where it would need 1,237 votes or more to pass — but that seems unlikely. Only 12 committee members voted for it, so why would 28 suddenly sign a petition?

Republicans are beginning to arrive in Cleveland ahead of Friday’s planned “Day of Rage” by left-wing protesters around the country, including in Cleveland.

Screw Nevertrump. Bunch of commies in R clothing. I don't understand why people can't get behind Trump when he got the votes. You guys know full well I was a Cruz guy but now Trump. I care more about this country than whether my guy won or not. Trump is OBVIOUSLY the winner and is going to smack down Hildabeast. I'm excited just thinking about it.

Anyone who is "Nevertrump" is just a Democrat Fifth Columnist in the Republican party. They have no right to call themselves conservatives. A true conservative would be fighting against Hillary, not against Trump. These people are willing to alter the Supreme Court for forty years, instead of the White House for four.

Remember at the beginning of the primaries when Trump was threatening to go third party? What was their response?

"Rules are rules"
"Rules are rules"
"Rules are rules"

Then Trump won, fair and square. Their response?

"Change the rules"
"Change the rules"
"Change the rules"

Jerks.

I lost all respect for Jeb because he lied.

(I had respect for him as .Gov of FL, as I felt he did much good for the state and worked hard during the aftermath of 5 major hurricanes, and several economic downturns, as well as other issues.)

On the first night of the debates, when the "setup Trump" question was the first thing out of Megan Kelly's mouth about the promise to support the RNC Nominee, and Trump, realizing he was being set up, answered in the affirmative and has stuck to that ever since, showed me his character and the character of the others were revealed as the thin layer of "Conservative" was stripped away one by one.

And during this same time, as layer after layer of Donald Trump is stripped away, we just find another layer of the same old Donald Trump.

And that sits well with me indeed.

I have never met the perfect person. But I have met liars and honest people.

Hillary's strategy is going to be to try to say nothing controversial, portray herself as the adult in the room and hope to contrast favorably with Trump. I think - at least I hope - she has seriously misjudged the mood of the country and it's tolerance for political nothing-speak.

I heard the Trump interview last night; I changed the channel when Hillary came on. I am convinced the ONLY reason Hillary called in was because O'Rilley praised Trump for basically dropping what he was doing to call in and give comment. Hillary knew that looked good so she called in. Not because she had something to say.

That's not going to work as the body counts around the world, including in this country, continue to grow. She's nothing but a liar, and a third term of Barry the Wonder Putz, and a growing majority of American voters know it.
