I think I need to see what the upcoming President Honey Badger has to say about recent events. I'm sure I'll agree with his take, which is exactly why I'm not hearing about him in the news the last week or so. Thanks for the heads up, Copefree.

Well, I got news for them. If they blow up the election this year, I don't give a damn who they run in 2020. I - and I imagine millions more people - will never vote for them - ever - no matter who they run. The GOP will be over.

When it all comes crashing down, we can start over from the ashes and see if we can eventually rebuild this country.

Not only will the hag fill the vacant SCOTUS seat with a flaming liberal, Ginsburg will finally retire her useless old ass & the hag will get to fill another seat with someone in her own image & likeness.

The Free Shit Army will grow in numbers to the point where we will never get a conservative in the White House or either house of Congress again. We are very close to that tipping point now & even though Trump wasn't my first choice, if he doesn't get in we are totally screwed.

I agree, he needs to pick a household name, someone that would attract both female and minority voters, and someone that would attract some of Bernie's voters who only have 3 brain cells anyways.

I wonder if Trump could gather more momentum by stating loudly and clearly that when he is elected, he will instruct his AG to indict Crooked Hilary.

That would be unprecedented in modern American politics, a candidate promising that if elected, he will throw his opponent into the hoosgow. That would make any debates rather interesting to watch.

Jeb was on TV tonight talking about Trump, tossing around a mix of backhanded compliments and thinly veiled attacks with a minor sincere compliment or two, and some seriously damaging negatives IMO (he's "worried" about a Trump presidency, but would simply be "sad" if Hillary won) - all but saying Hillary would be better/safer, and he says that he won't be voting for either Trump or Hillary.

That a former Governor, from a family of famous politicians, who was most recently running in this very race, is essentially advocating staying at home and not voting at all seems extraordinary irresponsible, and potentially very damaging to R turnout/results.

Dude needs to shut up and go away. He is hurting our chances, seemingly on purpose.

BREAKING! Judge reaches verdict in Anti-Trump delegate case, BAD NEWS for Trump!

In the Virginia lawsuit filed by anti-Trump delegate Beau Correll, the judge ruled in favor of Correll, stating that he could not be legally bound to vote for Trump at the convention, and that it is a matter of the party. This is bad news for Trump. While the delegates are still supposed to follow the party's rules, they are not legally bound to vote for the candidate that won their individual primaries.

PDF of the Judge's opinion at the link.

These delegates would do well to remember that they have to return home once the convention is over.

Better read the opinion.

All it appears on first reading to do is enforce proportional voting rather than winner take all, pursuant to party rules.

Jallen is right here. This is a nothing burger. The judge found that state law can't require a delegate to vote a certain way due to the first amendment, but GOP party rules, which are not state actions, can require delegates to be bound.

The Republican Party Platform approved by the Platform Committee this week in Cleveland adopted Donald Trump’s call for a security wall on America’s southern border as part of the solution to the nation’s broken immigration system, as well as safeguarding national security.

The platform specifies that the security wall should secure “the entirety of the Southern Border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.”

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach—a prominent constitutional lawyer and former law professor whom some conservatives in Cleveland this week hope to see considered for U.S. attorney general in a Trump administration—introduced the amendment to explicitly call for an actual wall.

Kobach was one of the elected officials who endorsed Trump early in the primary process, in large part due to Trump’s strong stand on securing the border. “For me, the most important issue in the Republican presidential contest is immigration and its effect on our national security,” Kobach said on February 29, when he announced his endorsement.

and

they also endorsed language that would impose “special scrutiny” of foreign nationals seeking to enter the U.S. from “regions associated with Islamic terrorism.”

Food for thought & not bad grub either.

Gleaned from the American Thinker - "The Washington Times said two days ago that is was 95% probable that Pence would be the nominee. Another person predicting this was Lee Cary, who noted:
As POTUS Trump won’t want to live in DC for more than 4 years – the house is too small – and Pence, age 55, is young enough to run in 2020. Gingrich is 73 – 18 years older and too old to be a candidate in 2020. Newt would make a good Chief of Staff. Flynn – Secretary of Defense or National Security Advisor.
Thinking ahead in this fashion is presidential, a quality Trump is often criticized for lacking."

I'd certainly go with those assignments if they turn out to be true. Newt would be an outstanding COS, & the nation would be in very good hands as Flynn as the NSA. According to Flynn he never once met the Zipper for a personal intelligence briefing, as director of National Defense Intelligence Agency.

From the Daily Caller - "President Barack Obama twice appointed former Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn to key national security jobs in his administration, including as deputy director of national intelligence and later as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, yet he never once met with Flynn face to face.
The general, who spent 33 years in the intelligence field, told The Daily Caller News Foundation he was never called in for a face-to-face meeting with Obama to offer his assessment of ISIS as it rampaged through the Middle East, or during the political meltdown of Libya and Egypt, or on Iran’s efforts to build a nuclear bomb, or of the “Russian reset” that ended in shambles. The general, who spent 33 years in the intelligence field, told The Daily Caller News Foundation he was never called in for a face-to-face meeting with Obama to offer his assessment of ISIS as it rampaged through the Middle East, or during the political meltdown of Libya and Egypt, or on Iran’s efforts to build a nuclear bomb, or of the “Russian reset” that ended in shambles,
In four years, Flynn was never invited to brief the president on any kind of intelligence issue. Ever.
“Here is the crux of my relationship with Obama,” Flynn told TheDCNF in a wide ranging interview Tuesday. “Here I am, running one of the largest intelligence agencies in the world. He appoints me twice — one as the assistant director of national intelligence and one as the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. I’m also his senior intelligence officer. And I had almost five years in combat.”

That's a pretty good lineup. Only real surprise is Marcus Luttrell. I remember him stumping for Perry, but I've never heard him endorse anyone after Perry dropped out or say anything in support of Trump.

Will be interesting to hear from Melania as well. To my knowledge this will be her first major public address. Not expecting much substance, but will be interesting to see how comfortable she is in public speaking. If she comes across as intelligent and well spoken, which I believe she is, then it will be a big benefit to Donald.

I'd like to see Mia Love speak. Would diversify the panel. Give black women a thought leader to get behind.

She would certainly expose the biggots on the left who would rise up immediately calling her 'Aunt/Uncle Tom and sellout' just for having a different opinion.

Mia introduced a bill requiring one item per legislation to restrict these midnight hour riders.

Cant wait to see the list of marxist commies on the other side. If anything else, it will be entertaining.

Cant we trade Ryan like a draft pick or somethng? Not too thrilled to watch him after all this...

From the interviews of her I've seen she came off as warm, poised, and well spoken.

Anyone else notice the absence of Gov. Pence? A strong hint of what's to come?
