Read a LAT article on Druge about "why" HRC is winning eventhough she is loosing. Not exactly a pro DNC piece I might add. Something dawned on me. The dems have NEVER liked the Electoral College. It doesnt play well for them. I wonder if this is a longer term plan for them to sell the elimination of it??? Blame my ideas on the lack of sleep, wisdom tooth removal and the Norco. -------------------------------------- "There are things we know. There are things we dont know. That NYT hit piece bullshit was a TOTAL gift to Trump and just gives him more ammunition to show that the media is totally in bed with the Left. These idiots are scratching their heads today wondering why Trump's poll numbers just went up AGAIN.

Just gonna drop this right here: Maybe The Don can brush up on a few facts before he has a meeting with the mayor..... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05...ocratic-turnout.html Two of the Democratic Party’s most loyal constituencies, labor and environmentalists, are clashing over an effort to raise tens of millions of dollars for an ambitious voter turnout operation aimed at defeating Donald J. Trump in the November election. The rift developed after some in the labor movement, whose cash flow has dwindled and whose political clout has been increasingly imperiled, announced a partnership last week with a wealthy environmentalist, Tom Steyer, to help bankroll a new fund dedicated to electing Democrats. That joint initiative enraged members of the nation’s biggest construction unions, already on edge about the rising influence of climate-change activists. The building-trades unions view Mr. Steyer’s environmental agenda as a threat to the jobs that can be created through infrastructure projects like new gas pipelines. For decades, organized labor was among the most powerful forces on the left, financing Democratic candidates and reliably delivering working-class votes, and political foot soldiers, for the party in crucial states and districts. But with blue-collar white voters shifting to the Republican Party and Democrats growing more reliant on higher-income voters and liberal donors like Mr. Steyer, environmental activists are increasingly muscling out unions. The labor movement itself is changing. As manufacturing has declined, power has flowed away from the unions representing factory and construction workers and toward public- and service-sector workers. The unions that formed the alliance with Mr. Steyer included the two largest teachers’ unions and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. the president of the 500,000-member laborers union, Terry O’Sullivan, called the partnership a “politically bankrupt betrayal” of union members. “We object to the political agenda of the A.F.L.-C.I.O. being sold to a job-killing hedge fund manager with a bag of cash,” he wrote. “Years of financial distress have left the A.F.L.-C.I.O. desperate for cash, and it appears that the answer is to sell out to a billionaire who not only has little or no stake in our movement, our members or their work but who has actively fought against our members’ interest,” Mr. O’Sullivan wrote.

There are two parallel and related movements underway. One is to shunt/end the EC, and the other is to move away from FPTP (First Past The Post) voting such as we use now. I've seen numerous rumblings and direct statements about both over the last year or so. I'll look around for some of the more interesting bits again and see if it's worth sharing.

The divide between labor leadership and the rank and file is about as wide as the Grand Canyon. Terry O is going to be shocked how many of his people people vote for Trump.

Anti-Trump crowd in NJ to protest him outside a NATIONAL GUARD ARMORY! They better be on their best behavior. A rally to protest Donald Trump’s Lawrenceville visit has been scheduled for 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. Trump will be speaking at the National Guard Armory on Eggert Crossing Road. He is attending two fundraisers in the Garden State — one to help New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie erase debt from his own White House campaign, and another to benefit the state’s Republican Party. The visit marks the first time Trump will appear at New Jersey events during his campaign. In Lawrenceville, Trump will appear alongside Christie. Tickets to the event are $200. Protesters plan to gather at Central Park, across the street from the Armory. The protest is being organized by Martha Friend, a teacher in the Princeton Public Schools district. “I’m appalled and infuriated that Trump is going to be in my backyard,” said Friend. “I’m hoping to gather as many people as possible to raise awareness over his hatemongering.” Friend invites anyone, regardless of their political affiliation, to join her in the peaceful protest. “Let’s remind Trump that our community is about caring and inclusion, rather than fear or ignorance,” she said. Teacher Amy Pearlmutter said it is disturbing to have a presidential candidate who doesn’t deal with the facts, and that it has been difficult to answer her students’ questions about Trump. “They want to know ‘How come he can say things that aren’t true? You always tell us to check our facts. How come he doesn’t do that?’” she said. Friend said protesters should bring posters and signs to the rally. Parking will be a challenge, so participants are asked to park on side streets and walk to the site, and carpool if possible. “I’m not sure how many people will be there, but I do know that we are just one of many groups planning to speak out against Trump and his dangerous rhetoric,” Friend said. ************************************************* NRA Life Member Capital punishment means never having to say, "You again?"

With 73% of the vote counted, Bernie and Hitlery are virtually tied in Kentucky. This is a state she was supposed to win fairly easily. She hasn't won a state for a while. Superdelegates have got to be concerned. If she loses both Kentucky and Oregon tonight, it's going to be tough to hide the panic.

Both Bern and Hillary were here in the last few days. (Bernie's rally was Sunday, Hillary Monday) The Bernie rally drew a couple of thousand supporters. Hillary drew a few hundred. I unfortunately had to take part in the security detail. I can tell you that the USSS were the nicest bunch of folks. Very professional. The disparity in numbers of supporters seemed pretty compelling to me. Oh, and zero protesters were at the Bernie Rally, and a total of six (6) protesters at the Hillary ralley. All were Bernie supporters sporting signs that said "Hill No, Bernie or Bust".

From the AP: Clinton leads by less than 1 point, or 1,034 votes, with 91% reporting. With over 400,000 votes cast, she is ahead by only 1,034. It's going to be very close. This is a state that we were told she would dominate to jumpstart her winning streak heading into Philly. If it weren't for the O'Malley votes, Sanders would likely have already won Kentucky.
