I'm in Toronto tonight and Honestly very little coverage of this. What I can find basically says "no way trump can win he is too ___". Same stuff we have been hearing throughout.

"I have to tell you" that I wasn't a Trump supporter but I think now he is the best of the two evils. While he may not be 100% for the 2A and could sign some crap bill sent to him. We all know that Hillary would take everything including our dicks in her quest for gun control unless Bill tells her not now.. Chris

He isn't going to lose.
He certainly can. It simply means he has to speak less extemporaneously. That's what lost him some momentum recently.

But no, he won't lose otherwise. He can be aggressive but not reckless.

So much talk today about Trump identifying Cruz' father in a photo with Lee Oswald. Limbaugh opened his show incensed by the statement. GOPe types even through to tonight, after Trump's landslide, perseverated on this comment-- appalled, angry, disappointed, and so on.

This is what they don't get, at all: Even when Trump's supporters don't like something he says, we like it that he is not a curry-combed, show pony politician. As a result, from time to time he drops... clunkers...like this morning's.

He is not the DC polished politician who won't say a word that he has not run by focus groups, handlers, advisers, consultants, pollsters. That fact is pure gold.

The polished politicians -- ultimately always self interested-- are destroying the country. When Trump talks, as he did tonight after his big win, he just opens his mouth and talks, like a normal person.

The result is landslide wins.

Cruz dropped out a week after he was mathematically eliminated and immediately after he lost tonight. He could have stayed in and done all he could to block Trump in California, but he left with class when the door was shut. Some will say he should have left last week, but the guy was entitled to a week to play it out.

Mike Lee was on the radio last week and defended Cruz and his campaign moves. He called him his best friend and not just because they agreed politically, but because he is a good man and that he's never see him be anything other than what he is in public. It's one thing to question Cruz, but I seriously doubt two of the best people we've had in D.C. in ages have both sold out and become liars. Cruz isn't perfect, but he's a good man and I believe what Lee said. To each their own, but that's just how I see it.

The race is over and it's time to move on. Some are going to hold onto their ill feelings towards him, but those two are going back to the Senate and we need them both. Hockey teams literally beat the crap out of each other for a playoff series and shake hands and move on afterwards. That's how I think this should be.

PS Trump in his victory speech called him a hell of a competitor with a bright future ahead of him. He actually sounded surprised that Cruz dropped out, but was happy because he wanted to focus on bringing us together.

Well, now that the stage is set, I hope everyone recognizes that the likely SCOTUS vacancies are far too important to allow a Democrat president. No matter what a Trump presidency may be like, it's time to unite to prevent a Hillary/biden presidency.

Y'all just stop it with this Trump is anti 2A crap. Just stop it.

Obama ran as an anti-gunner, had control of both houses of congress, had the CT shooting to exploit and he got ZERO done in the way of gun control. I'll let you in on a little secret: CONGRESS wants no part of gun control. A gun control bill will never make it to Trump's desk, no matter who controls congress. America doesn't want more gun control.

Trump has pledged to defend 2A, to work toward a national CW policy.

Do you think our gun rights will be better or worse under Trump vs Obama/Hillary/Biden/Sanders?

Im not entirely sure about that. I guess it depends on your version of "less". In a previous article posted it cited that Cruz was too scripted and Donald speaks from the heart. He doesnt need to be out of control but it works in his favor.

Wasn't surprising at all for some of us, at least in regards to Cruz.

I have mostly kept out of the bickering part of this and the Cruz thread because I wanted to keep the real enemy in my reticle. I was a hopeful Cruz guy, but could see where this was trending. What made me lose respect for Beck and even Mark Levin is that they actually said, "Never Trump". That means either they would have to swallow their pride or act in favor of the Lefitst revolutionary, Bolshevik soul sucking Dems. I will listen intently for the next several weeks to see what becomes of their resolve, but if stubborn pride camouflaged as principles prevails and the Dems are advantaged in the slightest by those two, they are dead to me.....and I have here to fore loved Mark Levin. It will be painful to turn my back on them, but as God is my witness, I will.

That said, I sincerely pray that any of our number who may have declared 'Never Trump' in passionate support of another candidate, will for the sake of progress back to righteous principles of liberty, reconsider and not act to advantage the Dems. I humbly beg you. To do anything else is at its core, foolish.

@ Balze

Sure, I suppose, regarding your faith in his general integrity and whatnot.

But 24hrs ago there was zero indication, less even, that Ted Cruz not only wouldn't drop out but very specifically was counting on, and attempting to force, a contested convention.

24hrs ago, from the man himself - and his people, there was every indication that this was about to drag out another couple of months, so, respectfully, it is rather surprising because is specifically counters their very public game plan, strategy, approach, etc.

Regardless, my comment was not meant to be negative in regard to Cruz but rather a positive confirmation, albeit 1-x weeks late IMO, of his integrity, and I'm pleased to see it.

A contested convention, and further turmoil, would have hurt us all even further, and to see him and others finally set that nonsense aside is also, legitimately, pleasantly surprising.

No?

Oh, I didn't perceive any negativity at all in your post. I'm simply saying that I am not surprised that he dropped out at this point. Trump will now reach 1,237 even if Cruz were to stay in, and he now knows that for a certainty.
