Cruz and Kasich form "Anti-Trump" alliance

Impossible.

All of the Cruz supporters are claiming that Kasich is in it to help Trump by preventing Cruz from getting as many delegates.

Similar to the Fox link above, here is the Politico link to the Cruz/Kasich alliance:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/...asich-team-up-222377

Ted Cruz and John Kasich have begun coordinating their campaign strategy to stop Donald Trump, an abrupt alliance announced Sunday night that includes Kasich quitting his efforts in Indiana and Cruz clearing a path for the Ohio governor in Oregon and New Mexico.

“To ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico, and we would hope that allies of both campaigns would follow our lead,” Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe said in a statement.

Previously, the Cruz campaign had largely refused to acknowledge the Ohio governor’s presence in the race except to dismiss him as a spoiler, and had insisted that only a two-man race between Cruz and Trump would halt the real estate mogul’s momentum.

Kasich chief strategist John Weaver announced, “we will shift our campaign’s resources West and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana.”

“Our goal is to have an open convention in Cleveland, where we are confident a candidate capable of uniting the party and winning in November will emerge as the nominee,” Weaver said in the statement.

*****************

Cruz and Kasich are destroying their credibility by conspiring to deny the will of the voters. This isn't "smart" politics, and it is not "organizational skills", this is desperate conspiracy to cheat.

Yeah, they all sure were howling about that, weren't they. I wonder what those psuedo-intellectuals have to say about it now? Its pathetic and a sign of weakness and desperation. Its official, Cruz and Kasich are both complete scumbags.

Hmmm, now I really don't want any of these dolts to win... Very disappointed in Cruz, and I already had a rock bottom opinion of Kasich.

Too little too late, Cruz needs Indiana and it doesn't look good for him on the ground here.

Governor Pence's religious legislation has completely undermined any real conservative nominee.

I hope you are correct. I would love to see Cruz get his ass handed to him especially now.

With last night's announcement, Cruz will win Indiana easily. Further, your assessment of Pence and his popularity in Indiana couldn't be more inaccurate. Pence is a GOD among Republican voters in Indiana and his "religious legislation" was exactly what he should have done. He is as popular as can be and will win re-election by a huge margin. He also is a great help to Cruz who, with the Kasich announcement last night, will now win Indiana by a comfortable margin. Without Indiana, Trump cannot get to 1237 before Cleveland. If he doesn't arrive in Cleveland with the votes to win, Trump has zero chance to win a floor fight. Trump's chance to be the nominee ended last night.

I LIVE here, and no I'm not mistaken. I'm in Hamilton County and Pence is not nearly as popular as you think. Pence is quite fiscally conservative, but when it comes to morality legislation, he's a utter clusterfuck...

BTW Cruz is still my guy and will get my vote.

I am hoping this is a very positive sign.

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-...nt-2016-versus-2012/

Comparison of voter turn out in the states that have had Rep primaries so far:

2012 had 14 million voters

2016 has had 23 million voters

60% increase

However, Wyoming and Utah had turnouts drop in 2016 compared to 2012.

Wyoming’s convention system, which has been around for years, is confusing and generally dominated by activists heavily involved in the party on a local level, not the general voting public

Utah switched from a primary in 2012 to a caucus in 2016.

Colorado, which technically didn’t have any voters involved in their convention system this year, also saw a drop off in participation.

as a reference point, Romney got 61 million votes in the 2012 presidential general election

Cruz and Kasich? Politics makes for strange bedfellows, but Cruz just lowered his stature significantly with that move. It's a sure sign of desperation and poor judgement.

I hope that the voters of Indiana are so disgusted by Cruz's teaming up with Kasich that Trump wins that state. Trump is up by 26 here in PA.

It is Trump or Hillary. We can never forget that. I can't even read the Cruz thread any more, they are so deluded, whining, and lost on their own ego trips....

another disappointing input from Cruz:

http://www.breitbart.com/video...ill-focus-substance/

A Hillary Clinton supporter attended Sunday’s Fox News’ “America’s Town Hall” with Cruz, and asked the senator what his plan was to run against Clinton.

After Cruz supporters booed the young Clinton supporter, Cruz told her

“I can’t wait to stand on a debate stage with Hillary Clinton,” he said. “Because my campaign against her is going to be the same as my campaign has been on the primary – it’s going to be based on substance and the issues.”

He then added, “In this primary when others have gotten personal and nasty, I haven’t responded in kind. I’m not gonna do that with Hillary either, and instead I’m going to focus on substance.”

******************

We lost the 2008 and 2012 elections partly because our candidates didn't go full bore against Obama.

It would be insanely incompetent not to attack Hillary Clinton w all the ammunition available.

"he would not get “personal and nasty” with Clinton, but rather focus on “substance and the issues.”"
(game plan designed for massive loss in the general election)

A winning game plan is to attack w both:
1) substance and issues, and
2) personal and nasty (but based on truth and facts)

We are in political war, but it seems only the far left understands that.

long article. But it shows how fucked up this process is.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-g...ssissippi-bloodbath/

Mississippi held county conventions Saturday to elect county delegates who will compete to become Republican National Convention delegates at the upcoming state convention.

The process was structured in many locations to favor establishment delegates and John Kasich supporters and to suppress conservatives supporting Cruz and Trump.

Interesting video at the link.
