Cruz's camp did put out that email. Cruz has already apologized for doing so, albeit after the fact. Ben Carson was clearly not happy about it.

That said, it was not "cheating" so much as just plain old dirty politics. But, you know, politics is war, and all that....

That's a wrong move by Trump. Why keep calling attention to Iowa? Victories lie ahead .

But it's true that Cruz's people did put out a release that Carson quit. I listened to Cruz's "apology" and it was a pretty wishy-washy, jumbled message. And as "dirty tricks" go, that was a pretty low thing to do.

But Donald: Fugetaboudit

Yeah, I know, but I despise the sensationalist "he stole it" tone.

It smacks of whining, lying, and typical "dirty politician bullshit".

I am not a fan of this approach.

Rubio should be the target. It makes no sense to continue a war with Cruz while he gains traction. The establishment would love for it to continue because they could play Rubio as the sensible middle man.

And people may have wondered why I asked them to define what the Establishment could do against Trump that would make for an unfair election. All Trump is doing is using the same standard some members here wanted everyone else to settle for - "we'll know dirty tricks when we see them". Well, why wouldn't Trump supporters simply claim that the entire primary process was stolen if Trump isn't nominated the GOP candidate in the end? After all, Trump is willing to claim that the Iowa primary was stolen by one tweet that affected a candidate (Carson) who's already come pretty close slumping his way out of the race.

This!

I want Trump and Cruz to figure out how to work together for America and not let a Rubio / Rhino in.

Rush just said some Rubio backer tweeted at 6:29 on the night of the caucus that the Rubio Campaign was actively floating Carson was pulling out of the race. I was driving, so I couldn't write down where he got that information from.

Agreed. I'm disappointed as well.

Read last night Trump is talking to former MA senator Brown for VP position. Guess after this dust up a Trump/Cruz ticket has gone by the waysides.

Expect to see California vp, Florida vp or Texas vp. Massachusetts only brings 11 electoral votes to Florida's 29, Texas 33, cali 55.

Cruz would likely carry Texas and help bring Florida and possibly cali.

I hope the rumblings of Brown as the VP pick are some mix of benign mistakes and hit pieces intended to weaken Trump's support, maybe even wishful thinking by some so-called Conservatives who actually favor more gun laws.

If it's real, it's a serious problem.

You mean the Brown now of New Hampshire, who ran for Senate again?

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

If Trump pulls it out, he VP choices are obvious. It has to be either Cruz or Rubio. He would need both TX and FL to win in the general.

If either Cruz or Rubio win the nomination, the other has to be their running mate.

Do you think that Cruz/Rubio Rubio/Cruz would win the Hispanic vote???

It really couldn't hurt. Neither of the D candidates are anything near Hispanic. We don't know who the potential running mates are yet. We'd have to see if identity could trump <note lower case> idiology (given that Hispanics in general have been going strongly Democratic.) And we know either of the Dems will be promising amnesty up the wazoo.

It would make sense, but we will see how the rest of the primary season plays out. If it doesn't get nasty between Cruz and Rubio, I could see that.
Until he was in Trump's cross-hairs, I thought a Trump/Cruz alliance was possible.

Any nastiness in a campaign is play acting. Once the winner is obvious, deals always get made.

We have to see where Trump shakes out.
