It doesn't change the fact that he barely gave a damn about Veterans until he could use them as a political prop in his campaign.

Hell, he gave Jenny McCarthy's non-profit organization that believes vaccines cause autism $10k in 2010- 1/5 of what he gave Veteran's Groups in 4 years.

But I guess he needed to grease that bimbo's skids too, huh?

Well, that's what billionaires do. Whether it's Trump, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, T. Boone Pickens, or the Koch brothers....they all give to politicians in both parties. They didn't get to be billionaires by being stupid...they cover all the bases.

Trump was buying favor with the Clintons, as he surely did with every candidate for congress, senate, governor, president, mayor of NYC, of both parties for the last two decades. His ventures are dependent on regulation by multiple city, state, and federal agencies. If there is a major vote or ruling on the gaming or real estate industries, he wants to make sure he at least gets a chance to have his views heard. You and I have that same right, but we are limited to calling or writing them. Trump calls them...or has lunch with them...or has them come to his wedding...

Trump is pledging to give 100% to vets in need, through his own foundation.

I hope he means it. He gave more to Clinton than he did to Veteran's groups in the last several (non-election) years.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/...nuts/article/2000776

"As Emily Canal of Forbes reported in October: "The Donald J. Trump Foundation has donated $5.5 million to 298 charities between 2009 and 2013 (the most recent year available), according to the non-profit's 990 tax forms from those years. Of that, only $57,000 has been donated to seven organizations that directly benefit military veterans or their families, Forbes found.

"The Trump Foundation's $57,000 in donations to veterans groups from 2009 to 2013 amounted to far less than Trump's donations to the Clinton Foundation."

-Tom

Really? How much did he give to Bush? To Romney?

That's what major corporations and wealthy businessmen do. The make contributions to BOTH parties, because they have to work with whoever wins.

So while you think you've got some kind of "gotcha" moment on Trump, unless you tell the whole story, you're no better than any of the network news boobs.

WTH are you talking about?

The Clinton Foundation is Bill's non-profit charity group that he founded after he left the Presidency.

-Tom
How much did the Clintons or their foundation donate to vets during the same time period? My bet, no more than Trump. Trump gave a million tonight. How much is Hillary prepared to give? Yeah....

Confused

I just don't understand some of you guys when it comes to this subject. Donald Trump has a shot at a form of immortality, namely, to be remembered long-term in world history. He has a very good, genuine chance to be POTUS. Oh, yeah, I'm sure he's just playing around.

Confused

And, guys, we do have a Hillary Clinton thread running. If you want to talk about the Clintons, post your comments in that thread.

I don't think Trump goes into any high stakes deal with anything other than a WIN mentality. Some people just can't adjust to his take no prisoners approach, because its almost totally contradictory to the approach GOP candidates usually take.

I used to think he was plowing the road for Cruz...not any more. The way he's putting our worthless news media in it's place, the jabs at Cruz...I think he's in it to win. Love the way he kicked Fox to the curb...especially Megyn Crowley.

Why did you click on the Donald Trump thread?[/QUOTE]

Yeah, I know. But that was a 50 minute video hit-piece on Trump from a left-wing British foreigner. Clearly one-sided with bullshit and cry-babies doing nothing but saying how terrible he is. Just struck me as a weird video to drop in the thread.

The one question I have is Trump wins. How does he run the country and all of his business enterprises at the same time? Are any of his decisions based on how his businesses would be effected by those decisions?

The other day I heard him say that he would not run both. He would focus on the nation while his family would take control of the company.

Former Presidents have placed their businesses into a trust that the Pres has no say in anymore while he is in office...I'm not sure of the legal name, but that's how it has been done in the past.

Have you ever looked at his kids?? They are all well educated and involved in running his businesses now.

Also, since his sons are involved in outdoor sports, more areas of the Bureau of Land Management will be opened up to hunting and other outdoor activities.

Trump is Living the American Dream not Living on the American Dole. If he gets the POTUS I think he'll do what was originally intended- serve his term and return to the proverbial farm to take care of his business.

I've only been paying attention to politics since the 1985 and have never seen anything like this.

I'm quite certain at this point, the day to day operations of his businesses are handled by others including his children. Folks are flinging anything around at this point hoping something sticks.

I wonder how Hillary would keep track and run her vast criminal empire if she was in office. Oh yea thats right...she has Bill, their daughter, and all the minions.

Take a look at Trumps kids. All successful, well spoken, professional, respectful.
