Quit posting those lies Cookster. We have been told by a fellow member, who knows Trump personally, that he's not religious at all, and is merely pretending to be in order to get votes. Direct from the mouth of a man who has personally worked for, and met Trump:

How does that video prove Trump's Christian bona fides? Really? Did those pastors say he's been in their church, doing good works, for years? They didn't say anything of the sort. The one guy, who did most of the talking, runs a church in Cleveland. Has Trump been flying to Cleveland for years and years, worshiping at Scott's church? So, seriously guys, y'all can have your fun, but don't put words in my mouth. I never said that he couldn't get the endorsement of Christians. Scott endorsed him based on his leadership abilities, and that he doesn't see racism in him, not his Christianity. That's a reasonable reason to endorse the man. But if you buy his claims that he's such a great Christian, like he's a great everything else, you're falling for his self-promoting rhetoric. That's what I said. Speaking of putting words in my mouth, I didn't say I know him personally. I'm sure that was hyperbole on your part to be funny or something. And if I get a hat, it'll be for me, not you.

I have never seen a strong correlation between being Christian and regular church going. There is a strong observable correlation between CLAIMING to be Christian and regular church going. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

showpro, how can you or anyone for that matter have any idea what is in the heart of a man in regards to his faith? Okay, fine. I was wrong. Trump is clearly the greatest Christian to have walked the Earth, with the exception of Jesus. Just ask him, I'm sure he'll agree with me.

I didn't claim to know what's in his heart, though I'm pretty sure it's mostly something like, "Me, me, me, me, I, I, I, money, money, money..." What I did say is that I bet he hasn't gone to church in like, forever, and suddenly he's tweeting about how he's on his way to church. Because he thinks people are suckers and if he does that, they'll think he's a good Christian. And he seems to have that right. Go through his Twitter feed history and see if you can find him ever tweeting that he was off to church, before he announced for president.

Yes, and the onset of Trump's claims about being a Christian and starting to go to church regularly coincide exactly. That was precisely my point. So, your maxim holds up, in this case.

If I could just point to one person of the current field and make him the nominee, it'd be Christie. But among the people who are polling currently high enough to seemingly have a shot, I'd go with Ted Cruz.
|
Glorious SPAM! |
Lol. So you WANT to lose? Why Christie? I feel Trump is the better person for the economy. Christie is a politition. Trump is a businessman. Huge difference.
|
Cursed be he who moves my bones! |
No, I don't think he'd lose. I think he'd wipe up the floor with Hillary. I think he'd give you most of the stuff you like about Trump, with the experience and intelligence to back it up. Christie is a former federal prosecutor. He's an experienced governor. We have no evidence that businessmen make good presidents. The one time we did that, Hoover, was followed by the Great Depression. Trump is just making it up as he goes along. He has no idea what he's talking about. And his followers don't care. But I'd prefer to have someone in the White House who has a clue. But make no mistake, if Trump is the nominee, I'll vote for him.

I think bridgegate has played itself out. They already investigated it and couldn't pin it on him. He handled it properly. It's a ridiculous scandal compared to the Clinton scandals. I mean, really, does anyone give a shit that there was a traffic jam on some bridge in in NJ?
|
Glorious SPAM! |
Thats not the point. He is vunerable to the lefts attacks. I could care less about the traffic up there. I have driven through it enough. They played it in the media for weeks and it hurt him. Trump would have just said he did it and his numbers would have gone up.
