With the re-election of Obama in 12 the democrat party has written off gun owners as a constituency. Notice you didn't see any pics of Hillary out duck hunting this time around. They are not interested in paying even lip service to attract gun owners. Their internal polling must have told them that they can win on a platform of banning guns. Some members of this forum who claim to be gun owners and supporters of the 2nd amendment still vote democrat, so they may be on to something. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

I'm wondering whaT kind of skits SNL will have tonight. I haven't watched that show live in 25 years. I'm going to check it out tonight just out of curiousity. **edit** looks like they're airing a 3 year old episode. Tony. I was really excited to see Dave Chappell hosting, he's a favorite. But he just couldn't get through the opener without blowing Obama... so I shut it off. Why can't entertainers just entertain? Why do they have to take a political stand and broadcast it to the world? SNL started with a requiem for Kate McKinnon's Clinton character. Kinda like how sad they were when Sarah Palin exited the stage and Tina Fey had to go do credit card commercials. Then two super rich black guys complained about how racist America is and how they can't get ahead, while making fun of racist white people. Same skit, different day. _________________________ You do NOT have the right to never be offended.

About 8,000 complainers marched in Los Angeles. They reportedly chanted "Not My President" while carrying many Mexican flags. I do appreciate truth in advertising for probably a lot of them. Isn't Enrique Nieto their president? At least that may be true for some of them. There are other countries from which people crossed our borders with no documentation or permission so their president would be someone else, too. LINK Eh, people are upset about Hillary's loss. Maybe some of the peaceful events are just people walking it off. _______________________________ NRA Life Member NRA Certified Range Safety Officer

It is reported that Trump is up for a big test in choosing his Chief of Staff. That may not be so. Link No matter who Trump chooses, he will need to finesse a few cards and rough-Trump some others to achieve his goals. So, no one knows whether his Chief of Staff will have both of the those roles on his key issues. The alleged conflict about who is named to the position also seems overblown because Trump leads as an executive - unconventional by past political standards. The traditional roles and labels may not apply to how his administration may operate. He may very well have a team executing his agenda with specialty players as events arise - but in non-conventional ways. Ryan has trouble wholly because of Ryan and no matter who Trump may name as Chief of Staff it may not signal anything about who will hammer whom. Traditionally, the Chief of Staff is a daily briefing and gate-keeping position. In Obama's administration, Valerie Jarrett is quite key. She's not Chief of Staff but it is widely known that she wields a lot of power as a Senior Advisor. The current label struggle may be more of a media pre-fight hype than a telling move about whether there will be conflict with the likes of Ryan and the reluctant-Trump establishment. That battle is sure to come but Trump's choice of who fills what label now may be part of an overall plan for long-term success based on how he intends to deploy people rather than what the labels have traditionally meant. _______________________________ NRA Life Member NRA Certified Range Safety Officer

In 2008, I got good and shitfaced on gin on Election Night. I got up the next night, still smelling like a Christmas tree shit in my mouth, and went to work. I was disappointed in the results, but Obama won fair and square. Sometimes your guy wins, and sometimes the other guy wins, that's just how it is. In 2012 I was disappointed once again, but I knew it was coming, there just wasn't any way Romney could beat the first black president. And again, I went to work (this time without the Christmas toilet experience, still can't stand gin, thanks, Obama), I sat there in our little office in the construction site I was watching, and I drank my coffee. I thought it over and came to the conclusion, rather quickly actually, that it's not a big deal. Yeah, it sucks we'd have another 4 more years of a racist wannabe radical doing what he can to thumb his nose at the Republic, but I still live here. And despite our faults as a nation, we're still arguably the greatest nation on Earth, and there's very little some douchecanoe hanging out in the Oval Office can do to end that, because we're not him. We're us. What makes this country great isn't the guy at the top, it's all of us at the bottom, going to work, going to school, getting shit done and just plugging away. So that's what I did. So, to answer your question, no, even though those elections didn't pan out how I would have preferred, I didn't consider going out and protesting or block streets or throw flaming rolls of toilet paper on the White House lawn, because I believe in this country, I believe in the Republic, I believe this is a great place. I think that's the difference between those of us on the right or the more libertarian spectrum, and those protesting this election, the protesters don't believe in this country, they don't believe in the Republic, and they most certainly don't believe this is a great place. They've swallowed the lies that America is three goosesteps away from Nazi Germany.

Truthfully I can never remember when a presidential election outcome had direct affect on my life. I surely didn't want a Clinton victory but had it happened I would not have done anything different the next day, weeks or months. Obama Care did have a direct impact however but I found a work around that and joined a health share plan. It proved to be one of the best things the wife and I have done. So even if Trump softens on Obama Care and keeps the pre existing condition clause which is the biggest thing that's wrong with Obama Care we are still good. The last 3 years have been the most profitable years our business has seen. Nothing to do with Obama but it has everything to do with our own decisions on how we run our business and our own hard work. We have had some good luck to be sure but as the saying goes you create your own luck. I don't have time to worry and fret over who is president I have a business that goes no where and does nothing unless I get up every morning and open the doors. Most everything that happens in life good and bad can be attributed to your own decisions and not who is president at the time. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. When Michigan's and New Hampshire's popular vote is finalized, would that be enough to put him over the top in the national popular vote? I'm not naïve enough to think it would shut the whiners up, but it would take an arrow out of their quiver. I've got Stossel on Fox Business on for background noise right now, and the guy from the Cato Institute (well known libertarian organization), as well as Stossel himself, are ripping into him even worse than the Democrat strategist. They just don't get it. I'm going to find something else in a bit.

Well, Fox has him down almost 631,000 votes in the popular. Very doubtful he'll retake that lead.
Stossel is just pissed because he was so wrong about the election. He was one of the first to say definitively that Clinton would win because, "that's what the bookies are saying." He beat that line hard from the beginning, that Vegas and the betters are the best indicator of the outcome. I wonder how much money Stossel had riding on this election. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan
