I'm not sure this article is true, because it seems to defy logic. But I'll put it here because I argued something different a few pages ago. I had pointed out that Romney (2012) and Trump (2016) got very roughly the same number of votes. But Obama (2012) got 6 million more votes than Clinton (2016). And then I figured that Clinton lost because 6 million less DEMs voted for her. But this article says that is not correct. That Trump's 2016 numbers would have beat Obama's 2012 numbers even though Obama had 6 million more votes.
