Neither did subsequent evidence indicating that Hunter Biden’s associates had identified Shokin as a “key target.” These matters are now part of the House impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

“It now seems there was material evidence that would have been used at the impeachment trial [to exonerate Trump],” said George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, who has testified as an expert witness in the ongoing Biden impeachment inquiry. “Trump was alleging there was a conflict of interest with the Bidens, and the evidence could have challenged Biden’s account and established his son’s interest in the Shokin firing.”

Ciaramella’s role – including high-level discussions with top Biden aides and Ukrainian prosecutors – is only now coming to light thanks to the recent release of White House emails and photos from the National Archives.

The emails show Ciaramella expressed shock – “Yikes” is what he wrote – at Biden’s move to withhold the $1 billion in aid from Kyiv, which represented a sudden shift in U.S. policy. They also show he was drawn into White House communications over how to control adverse publicity from Hunter taking a lucrative seat on Burisma’s board.

Yet there is no evidence Ciaramella raised alarms about the questionable Biden business activities he witnessed firsthand, which is in sharp contrast to 2019. In that instance, he was galvanized into action after being told by White House colleague Alexander Vindman of an “improper” phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During the call, Trump solicited Zelensky’s help in investigating Burisma and Hunter Biden’s role in the company.

Some former congressional investigators say Ciaramella effectively helped cover up a scandal far worse than what Trump was impeached over. What’s more, he failed to disclose that he had a potential conflict of interest stemming from his connection to the matter Trump asked Zelensky to probe when he lodged his complaint against Trump. RealClearInvestigations was the first to identify the then-33-year-old Ciaramella as the anonymous impeachment “whistleblower,” something major media continue to keep under tight wraps.

The losers will lose everything

Any political prediction for the remainder of 2024 must, to be taken seriously, account for one overbearing fact: neither side can afford to lose. For one side or the other, it will be game over. Political power will thereafter be denied forever to the defeated party.

For conservatives, the specter of another four years of radical leftism means another forty. Unprecedentedly massive, government-sponsored, illegal immigration will inevitably lead to a new, loyal and permanent, voting bloc, legal or otherwise. The entire purpose of government-funded illegal immigration is to bring about illegal voting for leftists. Not only that, but even after the election, the 2030 census will, if leftists prevail, bestow representation in Congress to people who break the law every day, just by being here, people who do not share our heritage or values, people who in many cases hate us. Those representatives will tend overwhelmingly to be leftists. They are supposed to represent you, but they will instead support those who are taking your job and siphoning off your tax dollars.

There are other factors that will spell the end of constitutional democracy, the end of the rule of law, and the bastardization of our culture but government-funded lawbreaking will be sufficient to do its intended job.

The other side of the coin is that the leftist nightmare already occurred in 2016, when Hillary Clinton unexpectedly lost her throne, and Donald Trump was elected president. The Left escaped its fate by immediately moving to cripple the Trump presidency, by endlessly undermining his every effort, and by carefully plotting never again to lose the White House. The Left learned its lesson. It is not enough to lie, cheat, and steal. The lies must be Josef Goebbels’ “big lie.” The cheating must be shameless, even when it is exposed. The stealing must be on a grand scale, leaving no mail-in ballot unblemished. The only reason Clinton lost in 2016 was because the Left lied, cheated, stole, but not enough. In 2020, the limits came undone, and the left pulled off the greatest fraud in history.

They fully expect to do it again, but on an even grander scale.

Only this time, even fraud will not be enough. If the leftist candidate officially “wins” in a historic landslide, nobody will believe it. The ordinary American, shocked into inaction since the January 6 incident, is in no mood to hand over his country to yet another blatant, obvious theft. State legislators are on notice. In order to certify their electors, there must be no reasonable doubt that the vote was conducted within the requirements of the law. The legislators now know, as many of them did not in 2020, that no one can require them to certify an elector until they have performed their due diligence. That power is theirs alone, not the secretaries of state.

But the Left is also aware of this. Their game plan will factor that in. Some Democrats in Congress have already stated, in advance, that they will refuse to count electoral votes which would cause their party to lose the presidency. They can’t surrender. A leftist defeat will be utterly unacceptable to them.

How, then, will the deadlock be broken?

In short, my prediction is that November 6, 2024, the morning after election day, will see the most serious constitutional crisis since 1861, the year in which the Civil War began. How that will shake out is unpredictable, except for one unavoidable reality: the losers will lose everything, and they already know it.

The entire affair is a three ring circus, as it should be.

I predict that at some point in the next few years, a film will be made about this trial. It will be a black comedy. I hope Hollywood will give it the director and cast it deserves.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, but I’m wondering about the charges in Georgia. Shouldn’t the state be bringing the charges, and not a local DA? The crimes he’s charged with, from my understanding, are state election crimes.

A federal judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case unsealed a new trove of documents on Monday, revealing the FBI’s code name for the investigation and how the FBI spoke about performing “loose surveillance” on the former president’s aircraft before an unprecedented raid in 2022.

The name, “Plasmic Echo,” was revealed in unredacted court filings that were made public by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon. A February 2022 case file that was attached was marked with, “[Redacted] PLASMIC ECHO; Mishandling of Classified or National Defense Information.” Notably, the FBI has used unusual names for prior investigations such as Crossfire Hurricane, Varsity Blues, Tin Panda, and Lemon-Aid.

Among the documents the judge released Monday also included an FBI claim from June 2022 in which a counterintelligence official, whose name was not included, talked about carrying out “loose surveillance” on President Trump’s plane to see if “boxes were loaded onto the plane.”

It’s not clear what aircraft was being discussed. The Trump Organization notably owns a Boeing 757 dubbed “Trump Force One,” which he has used for various campaign stops.

The documents that were made public on Monday were part of a motion that the former president’s attorneys had submitted earlier this year to obtain more discovery evidence in the case, brought by special counsel Jack Smith who has accused the former president of illegally retaining classified documents. Previously, Judge Cannon ruled that the documents should be made public but stipulated that the witness names and other details should be redacted.

The judge also unsealed an FBI document that detailed the FBI raid targeting the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence in South Florida in August 2022 when agents combed through his property to retrieve the documents. The documents describe the individuals who were involved, including details on when the agents arrived at Mar-a-Lago.
