Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
It's not a Chinese virus anymore than a modern Hamburger is meaningfully German somehow. Yes, it was found/discovered first in China. Yet no credible expert thinks China *made* it, so...? Had it happened to have been found first in a flea market Toledo it would be equally silly to keep calling it the Toledo Virus once it had an actual name and clearly wasn't from some weapons lab in Ohio. It sounds just like the Left calling everything an Assault Rifle for effect, to politicize it. This is a humanity problem that goes well beyond China.

What about lyme disease, Ebola, Spanish flu, West Nile Virus, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Norovirus, Zika Virus, German measles, Lassa Fever, and many more? Is it silly that we keep calling these diseases by those names? ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Regardless of what is being talked about, this phrase puts the point being made into question. “Yet no credible expert thinks” The phrase has no meaning other than, I am discounting every expert that I do not agree with, and provides no factual basis to the argument. “We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics,” Pres. The Chinese coronavirus presents a rare opportunity for Trump to deliver a decisive and significant defeat to the Democrats, Socialists and globalists and even the Deep State and bureaucracy that could quite literally make America great again. The estimable Daniel Greenfield at Frontpage Mag: ...The media falsely claims that President Trump was unprepared for the coronavirus crisis. The truth is that the problem was exactly what Make America Great Again warned about. Globalism, our dependency on China, our economy's interdependence with other countries around the world, the divergence of our supply chains, has the potential to bring us to the brink of disaster. Our failure to control our borders, not only with Mexico, but with the rest of the world, is a fatal weakness. MAGA offered the solution to the coronavirus crisis before it even arrived on our shores... ... President Trump had trouble advancing much of his agenda because the public lacked a sense of crisis. And so he lacked the support he needed to override judicial interference and political sabotage because most people didn't see that there was a problem big enough to justify cutting through all the red tape. All that has changed now... The coronavirus crisis is perfect for dealing a fatal blow to globalism. Or the Trump administration. One or the other will come out of this crisis on life support... The media's apocalyptic crisis hype is always its greatest weakness. The media had mobilized support for impeaching President Trump among independents until the actual hearings aired and support collapsed. Once independent voters saw that there was nothing to the actual proceedings, they turned their backs. The media has convinced much of the nation that coronavirus is a pandemic that will kill millions. If the country emerges from social distancing and widespread distribution of test kits with a flattened curve, then President Trump can enter the summer as a wartime president who led the nation through a crisis. And, in a judo flip, the media's own apocalyptic crisis will become Trump's best reelection argument. When the apocalypse fails to arrive, President Trump can claim credit for averting the disaster... The coronavirus is a crisis of globalism. And yet the D.C. crowd insists that globalism is the answer. President Trump can win big by making the case to the nation that the open borders and global government crowd has caused this disaster. The coronavirus is the perfect storm that their global lifestyles, crowded urban centers, international trade, and global bureaucracies have wrought... Coronavirus Will Give President Trump His Biggest Win MAGA can use the coronavirus to crush globalism. https://www.frontpagemag.com/f...t-daniel-greenfield/ "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Good post. Note that Europe has now abandoned the Schengen borderless idea and individual countries are locking down their borders with their EU neighbors. Also, Italy’s EU neighbors were supposed to send medical supplies under their treaties and did not. Another issue which is arising with the Wuhan Virus is federalism: Trump is telling state governments that the Feds will back them, but they should get needed equipment and supplies locally if they can because they can move more quickly than the Feds. Yeah, the NYT lied about that, implied Trump said “You’re on your own”. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Claiming Europe has "abandoned" the Shengen agreement is a bit hyperbolic. They've suspended it, to varying degrees, but not entirely abandoned it. What this does illustrate, however, is that Europe is not yet quite as integrated as Brussels would like it to be. "America is at that awkward stage. I believe President Trump should organize another SOTU speech. Call both chambers of Congress in. That would piss of Pelosi to NO END seeing how she pretty much just told everyone to go home... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Bassamatic, having been deemed credible by and independent party, has been recognized as an expert which validates the determination of Wu Flu as being an acceptable name. “We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. I still prefer Wuhan Virus, because it's "racist", and pisses off the Lefties real good because they used it for months until the Chicoms complained. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"
