What is going on with all these Trump people fighting over H1B visas this week on X and other platforms? I swear we are our own worst enemy sometimes, why do we always seem like we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? All this infighting BS really annoys me. We need to be more united and not head into a new administration already fighting with each other.

I don't see it as much fighting but a discussion that needed to happen. Don't fall for the press acting like MAGA is so divided over a topic that needed to be resolved. If we were monolithic like them, we'd be the "cult" they accuse us of being, when it's actually them that's the cult. __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Yeah, it's just leftists trying to stoke the fire, maggots trying to create controversy. They've been doing this kind of shit for how long now? We shouldn't be falling for it. Q

^^^^^^^^^^^ Yep, pretty much it. The greater question to me is why are people focusing on the “infighting” and not on the topic? H1B visas are like everything else. Enforce the laws on the books. Deport all of the H1Bs that have overstayed their welcome. Cut abuse and fraud. Pretty simple. Stop the Mitch McConnell mentality that we all have to get along all the time.

The media has been trying its best to drive a wedge between Musk and Trump, they have been doing this for weeks before the H1B issue. H1B visas are pretty highly vetted and controlled, at least with respect to identity and background, job function, and employer sponsorship. H1B holders do not overstay because if they do they can never come back or work legally at the jobs H1B visas are used for. Any abuse in the system is from companies exaggerating "shortages" to justify more H1B's. Overall this a very small part of the immigration issue. Biden and his ilk have let millions of unvetted people with minimal skills into the country who are demanding free shit. That is the first order of business to send them back.

See that's actually the discussion that needed to occur. H1B is in need is serious overhaul. What you describe may be what's happening in your experience, but there have been a lot of job postings highlighted in the last 24 hours that simply should NOT be eligible. Jobs like consultants, accountants, English teachers, 7/11 cashiers, cooks, and even dancers, among a lot of other such nonsense. Then there is the pay differentials.... __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

I worked for an Indian software development company that had a lot of H1B employees. The CEO was a total a-hole scumbag. He'd bring these guys over from India, get their families here, their kids settled in school and then became a slave driver. Those H1B holders knew they and their families would be on the deport list if they didn't obey every ridiculous order to the letter and ended up fired. Sure, they made ok money, but they lived in constant fear of being on the wrong end of one of the CEO's tirades. He was a lot like the George Steinbrenner character in Seinfeld, except not funny at all, totally erratic and mean.

What I saw on X was a heated discussion, but with necessary airing of different sides of this important issue. As Rick Lee says, the H1B visa system needs to be thoroughly reformed. Tech companies abuse the visa holders, and native (especially white) potential engineers are discouraged from entering the field because of this deliberate “safety valve” of H1B’s that keeps salaries down and career paths uncertain. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Yes I agree it needs to be investigated fully and aligned with the actual needs of business. The this is like a few percent of immigration, the vast majority being illegal or semi-legal due to abuses by the democrats. In my company there is no pay differential that I am aware of. At least with full time salaried jobs. Contractors get what they are willing to work for the contract agency for, but the job classification determines what we pay the contract agency. I would not doubt that Indian owned contract agencies may pay their workers less and pocket more margin. But the legal costs and complications, loss of continuity if they don't get the visa - they can work during application but there is no guarantee of getting it and they might have to leave - and then having to go back home to renew it every few years add costs that may offset wage savings. The biggest issue with Indians is the overstatement and exaggeration of qualifications and credentials on paper and in rehearsed interview answers. There is an underground system where they can find out questions, successful objective and essay topics, and various info to improve their chances for school admissions and jobs. Resume readers and HR people don't seem to realize that much of the stuff on paper may be suspect. I have seen several Indian engineers that couldn't do a damn thing despite what their resume says. Conversely, Chinese tend to be understated. Based on quality and diligence and thoroughness of work I put the Chinese ahead. Many Indians are constantly gaming the system to some extent, pretending to be competent by acting confident, and cutting corners with shoddy work.

Everyone of those bastards always say "I can do de jub". You are correct in their over statement of job qualifications. HR is clueless as usual. Then they get de jub and you find out they are entry level having no real experience. If you ask them something technical pertaining to the position for which they were hired, they walk away, get on the phone to their mentor and come back some canned answer. They need to go back to the shithole they came from and work in a call center selling extended warranties. Awake not woke

The left/media are just eager for anything to turn to their advantage. Just like so many government programs...it sounds just fine on paper, until its actually implemented and used for a period of time. The discussion was falsely summarized as H1B bad and goes to 0 vs H1B is essential to America "winning" and must be bigger yada yada. Elon didn't help with his tirade... H1B is a scam at this point, and needs a complete overhaul. People confuse H1B vs O1 visas. The idea H1B is bringing in global geniuses to our shores...is just preposterous....

I wonder if Letterman regrets encouraging Trump to run. I think back then Trump was a democrat. Possibly. His transition to republican was around that age. Can’t imagine Letterman would be so encouraging if Trump were a republican though. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Thank you Very little |
the H1B stuff was a big issue for Laura Loomer and she was calling out Trump over it because of his campaign running on shutting it down/overhauling H1B, and then Musk and Vivek coming out hard for H1B. H1B is abused by Tech companies the most, and others for finding overseas people they can hire at much lower wages. The big issue was pushed by Loomer where she was insinuating that Trump wasn't keeping his campaign promise by letting H1B remain, she's also on a roll about Big Tech infiltrating the Trump WH based on the number of them who are contributing millions to his inauguration and showing up at Mar-A-Lago in the past weeks. X took away her blue check mark and subscriptions, basically financially deplatforming her without removing her, which apparently happened after she called out Musk. You can read her posts about it here... if you want... https://x.com/LauraLoomer

BTW my fiancee worked for Tesla in the Austin Texas plant. Most of the plant workers were foreigners. It's no wonder Elon is big on foreign worker programs.
