His actions are not unlawful, but they are immoral and disrespectful of the justice system and victims.

I haven't studied the founding father's discussions on the power to pardon and commute, but I would hope the intent was to allow a final review to counter political and mob-rule convictions which they knew had happened in their pasts.

Are you guys all watching this? The Democrats clearly all received a memo that their new marching orders are to drive a wedge between Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

It’s like their last desperate gasp, I don’t think it’s going to work though.

Trump Declares Day 1 End to All Biden Restriction on US Energy
As part of his speech at the Turning Point Action conference on Sunday, President Donald Trump promised to reverse every Biden-ordered restriction on the production of US domestic energy starting on Day 1. Those orders would, of course, include Biden’s shameful cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline as well as his year-long “pause” on permitting of new infrastructure related to the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The President also promises to reverse “the insane Biden EV mandate” and to “declare a national energy emergency.” The latter is especially significant since declaring a national emergency would give Trump extraordinary powers to hold up some of the hundreds of billions of dollars in IRA subsidies that both the EPA and DOE have been handing to leftist NGOs like, as one EPA executive described it recently, “throwing gold bars off the Titanic.”

Yes. Every leftist is literally a living meme chirping “President Elon” and “Oligarchy”. That and politicians patting themselves on the back for keeping government open and doing it for kids with cancer or some such.

The Babylon Bee-
'Elon Is Controlling Trump!' Complain People Controlling Biden
https://babylonbee.com/news/el...le-controlling-biden

...Upon news of the bill's failure, Alex Soros — son of billionaire George Soros — posted his displeasure on social media, expressing concern that all the work he had accomplished while controlling Biden would be undone by the moves Musk was making while controlling Trump.

"Elon is controlling Trump!" Soros said on X. "No billionaire should hold the power to influence the incoming leader of the free world to make decisions that counter the power we have to influence the current leader of the free world. Something has to be done to stop this. But only for presidents we don't like."

The leftist hang wringing over Elon is just another shade of the old divide and conquer tactic. There’s no way that these two will be deterred by them.

Like Obama said, “Elections have consequences. I won.”

Now it’s our turn

Might take a while now, many of the contractors are busy building CO2 pipelines.

That pipeline is an interesting design to protect the permafrost.

In 1978 while working at Page Communications, I put in a Slow Scan TV at the pipeline river crossing north of Fairbanks to detect ice jams that could damage the pipeline. They would use dynamite to break up the ice jam.

..........................
The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) uses a variety of methods to protect the permafrost, including:

Elevation
More than half of the pipeline runs above ground on refrigerated vertical support members (VSMs). These H-shaped frames elevate the pipeline about 6 feet above the ground.

Thermosyphons
These tubes are bored into the permafrost to cool the ground directly below the pipeline.

Refrigeration systems
In areas where the permafrost is close to freezing, the pipeline is equipped with passive refrigeration systems. These systems use anhydrous ammonia to absorb heat from the pipeline and release it into the air.

Insulation
The pipeline is wrapped in insulation and buried in refrigerated ditches. The surface is also insulated with wood chips.

Teflon-coated steel shoes
The pipe is placed in a Teflon-coated steel shoe that allows it to slide as it expands and contracts.

Zig-zags
The pipeline's distinctive zig-zags allow it to flex in the event of an earthquake.

Thawing Permafrost has Damaged the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and ...
The pipeline was designed to handle the dynamic nature of permafrost, but not in a rapidly changing climate. The Arctic is warming at a rate up to three times the global average.

Russia and Iran have agreed to sign a mutual defense pact. It will be signed the day before Trump is inaugurated. That's not a coincidence. It's an in your face insult to Trump by Putin.

Given Trump's well deserved hatred for Iran (after all, the Iranians stated that they want to kill him), I would think that this would make it less likely that Trump would want to cut any kind of deals with Putin.

There may also be supply chain concerns with large diameter pipe.

My company sourced pipe for a (recent) gas conversion at one of our power plants, and a lot of pipe was coming out of Ukraine at the time.

We were fortunate to obtain what we needed.
