Dr. Dave Weldon - CDC

Dr. Janette Nesheiwat - Surgeon General

Dr. Martin Makary - FDA

These are, IMO, solid but not firebrand choices. Makary as head of FDA will not cave to Big Pharma; he was very outspoken on Fox News during the COVID "emergency" telling the truth. Yet he's a professional academic with an excellent background in public health.

The Washington Post ran a story yesterday headlined, “Trump pushes past sting of Gaetz’s exit with flurry of new picks.” Trump nominated most of his Cabinet in the first 20 days after the election. I’m not positive, but I can’t recall a faster transition in the modern era. Yesterday saw a slew of new names for the less prominent roles, including three key positions of special interest to the C&C community. The first was Dr. Janette Nesheiwat for Surgeon General. Here she is in 2022, complaining about military jab mandates:
https://www.foxnews.com/video/6309346277112

Of the three health slots named yesterday, Janette’s was the most potentially disappointing, although we remain hopeful. The bad news was that the regular Fox News Contributor, who owns a chain of urgent care centers in New York and is related to lots of career political people in DC, was an early and loud covid jab pusher and a pro-masker who even once demonstrated the double-masking technique on air.

Piling on, buffoonish bowtie doctor and vaccine salesman Peter Hotez, one of the pandemic’s minor villains, called Janette a “good pick.” So that wasn’t too good.

On the plus side, despite pushing jabs, during the pandemic Janette was consistently anti-mandate, pro-religious-exemption, and pro-military. In early 2020, before it went sideways, she even endorsed Trump’s recommendation for using hydroxychloroquine to treat covid infection. We have no idea whether Janette has "evolved" any of her pro-jab positions after seeing how badly things played out. She does seem sane, so there’s a chance.

In any case, the office of Surgeon General is largely symbolic, lacking any particular power besides glorified marketing of government narratives. The Surgeon General says squirrels do not usually make good indoor pets…

Trump’s next two more influential and important health picks were much stronger.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Here's the blurb on Makary from chellim1's posted article:

quote:
Third and finally, my personal favorite nomination, Dr. Marty Makary for the FDA.

image 4.png
Dr. Makary, 54, is a Johns Hopkins surgeon and a professor of surgery and public health. During the pandemic, Makary was a cautious but consistent voice of reason. At great professional risk, he often publicly advocated for focused vaccination, open debate, herd and natural immunity, and against mandates, school closures, masks, boosters, and public health overreach. He helped Governor DeSantis unmask Florida and quickly get schools re-opened.

Marty Makary is Media Matters’ Number Two top “dishonest Fox News doctors” because of his pandemic appearances, which to my mind, makes him even more qualified for the job. We need an FDA Director who says what he really thinks and doesn’t just rubber-stamp covid vaccines for pregnant women because it’s politically correct.

Makary’s impeccable credentials, regular op-eds, social media presence, advice to DeSantis, and his other public appearances were critical ammunition in the successful war to stop biomedical totalitarianism (2020-2023). Only a Democrat could complain about Makary’s medical and institutional qualifications for the role. I am delighted to see him nominated for the FDA, and pray he can get his arms around that beast.

Needless to say, I approve of this message.

She is also pro social media censorship for anyone going against the vax, mask, lockdown narrative. Yup, she's horrendous. And she was spouting all that shit at the end of 2021. Not 2020, but 2021. Her nomination is frankly inexplicable to me. But at least it's a relatively insignificant position.

Yeah, I'll go even further by saying it's a useless position. Elon and Vivek should recommend nuking it.

Trump holds first meeting with NATO chief Rutte since election, talks focused on ‘global security’

https://www.france24.com/en/am...d-on-global-security

NATO chief Mark Rutte held talks with US President-elect Donald Trump in Florida on the “global security issues facing the alliance”, a spokeswoman said Saturday.

The meeting took place on Friday in Palm Beach, NATO’s Farah Dakhlallah said in a statement.

In his first term Trump aggressively pushed Europe to step up defence spending and questioned the fairness of the NATO transatlantic alliance.

The former Dutch prime minister had said he wanted to meet Trump two days after Trump was elected on November 5, and discuss the threat of increasingly warming ties between North Korea and Russia.

Trump’s thumping victory to return to the US presidency has set nerves jangling in Europe that he could pull the plug on vital Washington military aid for Ukraine.

NATO allies say keeping Kyiv in the fight against Moscow is key to both European and American security.

“What we see more and more is that North Korea, Iran, China and of course Russia are working together, working together against Ukraine,” Rutte said recently at a European leaders’ meeting in Budapest.

“At the same time, Russia has to pay for this, and one of the things they are doing is delivering technology to North Korea”, which he warned was threatening to the “mainland of the US (and) continental Europe”.

“I look forward to sitting down with Donald Trump to discuss how we can face these threats collectively,” Rutte said.

This mayor is a royal asshole, just an idiotic douchebag. I feel bad for anyone here who lives in Denver.

And here he is, talking about reducing services such as park & rec, the DMV, etc. to help protect illegal invaders. Wow.

Trump nominates first openly gay Treasury secretary.

Unhinged individuals on the far left are probably erasing this from their personal reality.

Shouting "bring them in" is one thing. Taking full responsibility for them once they're in is quite another.

I'm betting the answer to my question is a number very close to zero.

God bless America.

Easy peasy. Ship all of the illegals to them, and cut off all their federal funding. If they want them, they can have them and pay for them.

Sebastian Gorka Appointed White House Senior Counterterrorism Adviser to President Trump

https://www.breitbart.com/poli...ser-president-trump/

President-Elect Donald Trump announced Saturday his appointment of Dr. Sebastian Gorka, former senior Trump administration official and host of the America First podcast, to the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director of Counterterrorism.

“Since 2015, Dr. Gorka has been a tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement, serving previously as Strategist to the president in the first Trump Administration,” Trump said in his announcement.

He added:

Dr. Gorka is a legal immigrant to the United States, with more than 30 years of National Security experience. In 2015, he was one of my Advisors for the GOP Primary Debates on National Security. At the time, he held the Major General Matthew C. Horner Chair of Military Theory at the Marine University Foundation, and was a Guest Instructor at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg. Prior to that, he was Associate Dean for Congressional Affairs and Relations to the Special Operations Community at National Defense University, and Kokkalis Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a Recipient of the DoD Joint Civilian Service Commendation awarded by USSOCOM for his work in Counterterrorism.

In addition, Gorka was the national security editor at Breitbart News.

Gorka said in a post on X, “Honored beyond words to serve President @realDonaldTrump once again, in what will be the greatest Administration of the modern age.” #MakingAmericaGreatAgain

I am officially tired of people second-guessing President Trump, and I am astonished at how quickly our victory has worn off for some of you.

I trust the man's judgement, especially since he has been down this road before, and since he has weathered incessant attacks on his person, his character and his family for just shy of a decade.

Of all threads currently active in this forum, this one in particular moves the fastest and consequently, posts get buried quickly.

Nevertheless, I am, in this post, serving notice to all members that I have had my fill of the second-guessing and each of you can expect for me to exhibit virtually no patience with any more of this stuff.

Fair warning. Be happy. Have faith.

And above all, for goodness sake (and for yours), think before you post.

Imma going to say I really like some of the picks, have no info at all on some of the picks, and may not be thrilled with some of the picks.

But given how the man has performed probably the greatest comeback in all of political history, has torn apart the longstanding divisions between “R” and “D” to bring together not only politicians from various belief systems, but more importantly voters from longtime D strongholds in true “togetherness” I am just going to trust that he has learned a thing or two in the past 8 years.

I am still feeling the joy and I am not second guessing any of his picks.
