I'm sorry, I must have been out sick the day the memo came out that the DOD is a "business" that needs to be run by a businessman. Silly me!

I think the point is, DoD needs to be run like a huge organization...because it is. There are greater than 3 million "employees" in the DoD, both civilian and military. What experience does Pete Hegseth have in managing an organization that large? There are thousands of moving parts in such a "business" and it is a tad more complicated than hosting a weekend variety show on Fox News.

Every employee in the world (and every soldier in the military) seems to know how to run things better than the boss. Most, if not all, don't.

I often heard a phrase when I was in training that was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. That phrase was, "You don't know what you don't know". In the years hence, I have come to know that those who told me that were exactly right. I didn't.

Pete Hegseth doesn't know what he doesn't know about running a huge organization. Experienced business leaders do. I suspect that he's bitten off far more than he can chew.

I wouldn't be opposed to putting him in charge of a department within DoD to root out the DEI/CRT garbage, but in charge of the whole ball of wax? Nope.

We'll see. Perhaps he will excel, and I hope he does.

No you don't Roll Eyes

You already want him to fail for some reason and it's strange seeing this crap from you and a couple other people here.

How about you give the man a chance before you declare that he's "he's bitten off far more than he can chew"?

We need to work with Trump on that whole fascist dictator thing. He is supposed to increase the size and power of the federal government to make that totalitarian thing work. You know, like Biden and Obama did.

He's just going about this all wrong.

I agree with this 100 percent. I am sure total loyalty and trust is a high priority for President Trump. In the past he has gotten bitten by quite a few snakes. If some of his picks don't work out as planned Trump will make adjustments in short order.

It seems to me that the shortfall in recruiting, due to the current woke and DEI initiatives is an issue that needs to be addressed as quickly as possible. My guess is the current SECDEF nominee is closer to the pulse of the troops and potential enlistees than a flag officer or businessman.

Yeah, at least it's not Cornyn.

All things considered, it'll be fine. The benefit of Thune is he would seem to know the ins and outs of the Senate better than Scott, and that is very important.

The voting really needs to stop being anonymous. It's just cowardly. If you're choosing someone, and implicitly not choosing others, have the balls to say whom you chose. I hope Trump can find someway to make this most recent ballot public. A lot of Rhinos will shit themselves.

Don’t know how DJT or anyone could turn it public. The Senators themselves need to be transparent and expose those working against the agenda. The PEOPLE have voted for change, let the disinfecting light of day shine on those who keep trying to do business as usual.

Seems the current word is "loyalist"

Donald Trump is fielding his positions with loyalists, followed by commentary that it is all about reward/payback and nothing else.

Every time they open their mouths to give an opinion about what changes are being made and who is going to fill certain positions, the irony comes pouring-out. The endless stream of straight-faced statements is hilarious, they truly live in a bubble, willfully ignorant to the world outside their own.
