Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal Hands Trump Some Good News

As the report explained:

At issue is an April 2019 executive order issued by King County Executive Dow Constantine, which directed county officials to prohibit fixed base operators on a county airfield near Seattle from servicing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement charter flights used to deport illegal foreign nationals.

Constantine’s order prohibited King County International Airport from supporting “the transportation and deportation of immigration detainees in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, either traveling within or arriving or departing the United States or its territories.”

While I have certainly alluded to it, I don’t think I have ever come right out and said that the King County Sheriff’s Office was my employer for over 30 years.

For 15 of those years “Chairman Dow” (as he is often referred to) has been the County Executive and responsible for much of the social and moral decay for the greater Seattle area. He thought “CHOP” was a good thing during the BLM riots, has always been anti-police. I’ve never heard a good word about him from any officer who worked his protection detail, which is widely considered to be one of the worst assignments in the Department.

He manipulated the process to make the King County Sheriff an appointed position instead of an elected one and is responsible for budget cuts and reductions in service. The Department is still forbidden from assisting ICE, asking detainees/arrestees any questions related to citizenship status. The King County Jail is forbidden from honoring ICE detainers.

In a true and just world, he would be staked out on the corner of 3rd and Cherry at the King County courthouse and force-fed “Seattle soft-serve” 18 hours a day, six days a week.

I could go on, but I’ve strayed off-topic enough…

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

NY Post: Trump considers DeSantis to replace Hegseth as DoD nominee

Link

quote:
President-elect Donald Trump is considering replacing Pete Hegseth, his controversial pick to lead the Pentagon, with one-time 2024 rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, people familiar with the discussions told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday.

The move comes as Hegseth, a 44-year-old Army veteran and former Fox News personality, faces increasing scrutiny over allegations of sexual misconduct and financial mismanagement.

The defense secretary post requires Senate confirmation and Hegseth faces an increasingly uphill battle to win over GOP members with concerns about his past.

As many as six Senate Republicans have expressed reservations about confirming Hegseth for the top Pentagon role, according to NBC News.

CA judge in Hunter Biden's tax case has some choice words for the Biden mafia:

quote:
The net effect of Scarsi's order is that the California case against Hunter is now also terminated. But after first noting that Hunter's team botched things by merely providing a hyperlink to the White House press release regarding the pardon rather than filing an accurate copy of the pardon, Scarsi included some delicious parting shots on the matter (emphasis added, citations omitted):

The President’s statement illustrates the reasons for the Court’s disapproval, as representations contained therein stand in tension with the case record.

For example, the President asserts that Mr. Biden “was treated differently” from others “who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions,” implying that Mr. Biden was among those individuals who untimely paid taxes due to addiction. But he is not. In his pretrial filings, Mr. Biden represented that he “was severely addicted to alcohol and drugs” “through May 2019.”...Upon pleading guilty to the charges in this case, Mr. Biden admitted that he engaged in tax evasion after this period of addiction by wrongfully deducting as business expenses items he knew were personal expenses, including luxury clothing, escort services, and his daughter’s law school tuition.

...

According to the President, “[n]o reasonable person who looks at the facts of [Mr. Biden’s] cases can reach any other conclusion than [Mr. Biden] was singled out only because he is [the President’s] son.” But two federal judges expressly rejected Mr. Biden’s arguments that the Government prosecuted Mr. Biden because of his familial relation to the President ...And the President’s own Attorney General and Department of Justice personnel oversaw the investigation leading to the charges. In the President’s estimation, this legion of federal civil servants, the undersigned included, are unreasonable people.

In short, a press release is not a pardon. The Constitution provides the President with broad authority to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, U.S. Const. art. II, § 2, cl. 1, but nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history.
Scarsi also notes that, while pardons are not to be prospective in nature, the Biden pardon purports to offer clemency to Hunter through December 1, 2024, even though it was signed by the president on December 1, i.e., with time still remaining on the clock for that date. Thus, in theory, the pardon also encompassed "conduct that had not yet occurred at the time of its execution, exceeding the scope of the pardon power." Scarsi expressly declines to read it as such and concludes: "The warrant explicitly brings the charges in this action within the ambit of the pardon, indicating presidential intent for the pardon to apply to this case even if it is unconstitutional in other respects."

In a nutshell: Fine, Hunter — you're off the hook. But your lawyers don't know what they're doing. And neither does your dad.

I really hope Trump doesn't back down on this one. They already essentially forced Gaetz out. The jackals will really taste blood in the water if Trump keeps replacing his nominees. That's not to say that I don't think DeSantis would be a good pick. I think he would be, but he won't be as aggressive as Hegseth, which is what we need and want.

If we hold everyone to the same standard fine, but no one cared about the personal lives of the Democrat nominees.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

IMO, I can't see DeSantis wanting a cabinet gig. I really think he envisions himself finishing his governorship and winning a special election in 2026 for the Rubio senate seat that will be vacated by his temporary seat warmer, a political move that is virtually guaranteed. He could own that seat for years.

Everything said against Hegseth has come from "anonymous sources." If these assholes who won't identify themselves succeed in bringing down Hegseth, that will only embolden them-- whoever the hell they are.

This kind of bullshit cannot be allowed to succeed.

I'll go one step further. Even if the various allegations against Trump's nominees are true, I don't care.

The left has jumped the shark with tossing out every kind of allegation, anonymous or not, for decades. Most have been either patently false or totally unverifiable. When we jump in response to their allegations it only further emboldens them in the future.

And, as you point out, the left doesn't care one little bit when their side engages in the same or worse actions.

Unless there are verifiable criminal convictions, at this point I couldn't care less about allegations against Trump or his team.

There is an email his mother sent him in 2018 accusing him of "abusing women." She has since said that he was going through a "difficult divorce" at the time, and that she was "reacting emotionally."

But I agree with Fly-Sig. Unless there are criminal convictions –
I don't care.

If the truth were known about most of the senators who object to his appointment – especially Lindsey Graham – the accusations against Hegseth would pale by comparison.

I'm happy to see that Trump appointed Peter Navarro as his senior advisor for Trade and Manufacturing, a position he held in the first term. The man served four months in prison for telling the Jan 6th committee to fuck off.

It's not the Democrats lies and rumor mongering that is the main problem. Fuck them they don't control shit anymore. It's cocaine Mitch, Murkowski, Collins, Tillis and a few others who could and would sink these nominations. There is no end run around these people you have to get them willing to vote for who Trump nominates. These Senators have the ability to water down Trumps cabinet. Speaker Thune is no Pelosi he will strong arm no one. In fact he may be included in the above list.

Peter Navarro to return to White House as senior counselor for trade

https://justthenews.com/politi..._campaign=newsletter

Peter Navarro will return to the White House as Trump's senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, the president-elect confirmed Wednesday.

"During my First Term, few were more effective or tenacious than Peter in enforcing my two sacred rules, Buy American, Hire American," Trump said. "He helped me renegotiate unfair Trade Deals like NAFTA and the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), and moved every one of my Tariff and Trade actions FAST."

Navarro spent four months in jail this year on contempt of Congress charges over his refusal to comply with a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 Committee.

He left custody in time to speak at the Republican National Convention and Trump previously expressed interest in having Navarro return in some capacity.

In making the announcement, Trump commented that Navarro "was treated horribly by the Deep State."

Trump to appoint astronaut, businessman, philanthropist Jared Isaacman to be Administrator of NASA

X Link

quote:
I am delighted to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot, and astronaut, as Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Jared will drive NASA's mission of discovery and inspiration, paving the way for groundbreaking achievements in Space science, technology, and exploration. Over the past 25 years, as the Founder and CEO of Shift4, Jared has demonstrated exceptional leadership, building a trailblazing global financial technology company. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Draken International, a defense aerospace company, for over a
decade, supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, and our Allies. Jared's passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era.

We were following the recent SpaceX Dragon Capsule launch with Isaacman, two very talented women, and an astronaut pilot. Showed the videos to our granddaughters who became entranced with story of women astronauts.

That's how we first heard about Isaacman. Of course, he has a close link to Musk and SpaceX, but. is a businessman involved in space ventures outside of SpaceX.

Another hit out of the park by Trump. Imagine NASA being run by an entrepreneur, businessman, serious pilot, and astronaut.
