That video shows a little into his mind. Not a second passed after Harris’ speech and he listed off the items in his mind that she didn’t touch on. And he’s real timing his responses while also listening to other people’s inputs. Not one beat spent in pausing to switch gears from taking in ideas and putting out remarks. There were no ummms or aah’s I heard.

I’m not an idol worshipper but it looked like there was a central command staffed with different people at their consoles inside his head while being in the middle of his central command with his people.

Can you imagine an equivalent scenario with Harris? She would be sitting there with a blank stare waiting for people to tell her what she’s supposed to think.

And she’ll go, “I think I’ll just stick with ‘unburdened by what has been.’”

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

My wife has a few cousins that are loosing it. I keep telling her its a waste of her time.

Now shes pissed at me cause I won’t listen to her back and forth with them.

She has a better chance of convincing our bloodhound that she doesn't need to eat the cat food every time she leaves the door open than changing their minds about Trump. It just isn't going to happen.

Hopefully she’s as arrogant as RBG was and resists this and holds on to 1/20/2025 where she can then retire or croak.

There is no way in hell a departing president will be allowed to replace a SCOTUS member after an election. Let's stop this internet rumor crap. Ask Merrick Garland.

The Wise Latina isn't going to step down. She's one of nine, employed for life, and she not going to play an openly political game. She won't give that up at her age just help Dems.

There isn't enough time to investigate and have a confirmation hearing before the new congress is sworn.

I'm with you. Garland is the first thing I thought of when I heard this. It just isn't gonna happen.

I did savor this line in the article:

When Democrats first floated the idea of jettisoning Sotomayor last year, they were accused of ableism and racism.

Newt is a little before my time, but he articulated a point that I have been pondering for the last 48 hours... I look at all the new Red voters that Trump was able to convince this election and it seems clear to me that a top priority of 'the right' as a whole should be "How do we cement those voters moving into the future?"

We don't want this to be a one-time blip, we want to expand. Success in the next four years seems to be the right answer, at least in my head. And if those people that voted for Trump can easily see how much better their life is these next four years, then I think it is going to be hard for the Democrats to win in the next couple of cycles.

And if they (the Democrats) can't collectively figure out why they lost and instead double-down on their losing policies, well, happy days ahead for us.

I would say we need success in the next 18 months. We have to solidify the gains made this year in the mid terms. Put the hammer down. And start working now on ways to counter the attempted election fraud.

Starts with fixing the electoral count issues stemming from the faulty 2020 census. Trump's EC count should have been even higher, but "mistakes" were made that pulled votes from Red states and largely gave them to Blue states.

Then, of course, voter reform. I am not educated enough to know how possible but this would be, but I'd love to see federal law that mandates any federal election be conducted with in-person voting and subject to voter ID.

Those two things would be a tremendous start.

Oh, and of course rooting out any election fraud from this election, as well as 2020, that terminates with a robust prosecution and federal prison sentences.

Those three things happen, combines with the coming economic and social success, could lead to the 30-40 years of conservative governing that Newt talked about in the above video.

Sotomayor is not going anywhere as I said previously, and The WSJ just reported this morning that she's not (according to "people close to the justice"). Sorry, can't link, I'm typing one fingered on the cell phone.

But the Garland affair is not the same. Justice Antonin Scalia died in Feb 2016, 9 months before the presidential election. The only reason Garland was denied a SCOTUS seat is the that GOP controlled the senate at the time, and thanks to McConnell slapping the "Biden Rule" back at Obama's face. Yeah, we owed that Mich guy a huge one, despite how much we hate him.

And as I recall, President Trump's nomination of Amy Coney Barret did not fall under the Biden Rule since at the time of her nomination he was eligible for a second term as President. Am I correct?

I am very pleased Trump will not bring back Mike Pompeo, IMO, a phony, a throwback to the traitorous
cabinet members for his first presidency. And FYI- Don Jr. is a chief member of the transition team this year.

We gained much by Donald Trump being out of office for four years. He is so much more savvy now, and so much has happened in these last four years that we weren't prepared for, but now that COVID and the lockdowns and all the censorship has happened, these travesties can be addressed, and we're ready. Glorious.

Not sure if I heard that here or on Twitter or on the radio, but supposedly Trump has tapped Don Jr as the “Keep Out The Snakes Czar” for his second term and based on how Pompeo and Haley were nicely told to fuck off, I’d say that’s working so far.

I appreciate a lot of the actions that he is taking. However part of me wishes he would hold this back until after he has taken the oath of office, thereby preventing everyone opposed to his plans from having any time to plot, plan, or take action to lessen the effectiveness of his groundbreaking work.

On a separate note from a conversation I had last night. It is clear that for the last decade or more this country has been ruled by a vocal, aggressive, at times violent, self serving minority with self imposed moral superiority operating with impunity and forcing the majority of America to bend to their mantra simply by making us fear their retribution. America said.... Enough!

This same group claims to be defending Democracy in America, a false premise as this is a Constitutional Republic, yet the reality is they are forcing minority rule.... which is the opposite of Democracy.

This is no more than a 5 year old who realized they aren't going to get their way so they scream, and when ineffective throw a tantrum. We're in the 'scream' phase.... the tantrum is pending.
